If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Espa?ol [walmartstores.com]
We're committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we'll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.

God I hate these razor coupons. Head Bang

I haven't seen the aforementioned gift set but IF it includes a razor AND cartridges in the same box, AND said box does not say "buy X, get XX free", wouldn't you in fact, be buying both?

The coupon states "buy cartridge OR disposable, get Proglide free". If the box contains a cartridge then you have fulfilled (A), thus allowing you to get $10 off (B).

I think the pricing is the problem here because the gift set is only $10 and that seems pretty cheap but it seems to me if it doesn't say you are getting xx free, then you are actually paying for both. Just not paying much.

I'm not being argumentative, I'm just trying to understand.
I'm gonna disagree with you. Let's see if I can explain my POV.

It doesn't matter that the Q isn't a BOGO...it still requires the purchase of two items.

"Buy this, get X off that"

It doesn't matter if X = $10 or if X = FREE, X has to be a separate item with a separate barcode.

Buy cookies, get $2 off milk...you gotta buy a package of cookies, and you gotta buy a carton/jug of milk. No fair cheating with those freaky cereal bars with the "milk" filling. Same principal here...buy cartridges or disposables, get $10 off razor...you gotta buy a package of cartridges or disposables, and you gotta buy a separate razor. The Q requires the purchase of two distinct items.

Now, if you wanted to buy TWO giftsets, and use ONE Q, you'll get no argument from me (as long as one set has cartridges or disposables in it, and the other has a razor).

What would you do if the Q said "buy cartridges, get a free razor"? You'd have to buy 2 separate items. Same thing with this one...it just happens to be $10 off instead of FREE.

JMHO.

Don't worry, when this one expires there will always be another one to make us crazy. There has been a screwy-coded razor coupon every month for the last 3 months. The razor coupons are why my nearest CVS hates me. Stick Out Tongue

I guess this one doesn't make sense to me because it seems like you ARE buying both. (Assuming the razor isn't taped to the outside of the package like some items that come with "xx" wyb "x"). If it was priced at $19.99 and both were inside the package, maybe it wouldn't seem like cheating? Dontknow

It doesn't matter to me, Lord knows the last thing we need around here is more Proglides. I just couldn't understand why it was improper usage if you are buying both. Because at the end of the day, you ARE buying both.

Speaking of Coty...I have found some of the perfumes in perfume aisle have $5 peelies on them. Some perfume can be as cheap as $8. However, in the men's shaving area, there are bottles of aftershave for $4.xx. I think it was Addidas made by Coty.

Why would this be limited to gift sets as manual proglides have 2 cartridges in them? I personally would never use the coupon in the way it is suggested but would judge no one who does, I was just curious why people would think is ok to use on a gift set and not on a regular manual set.

In couponing terms, I've always been told things go by barcodes.

If you had a coupon for buy a DVR, get $5 off a blu-ray - would you use the $5 blu-ray coupon on a boxed DVR that came with 3 blu-rays?

I can see your point to a point, but I was always told (in couponing terms) you have to have barcodes (b1g1 needs 2 barcodes). This is the same point someone at the flea market was trying to tell me (she uses a b1g1 on those packages with the "trial sized" attached as fulfillment for 1 coupon).
