If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.

i thought those q's now said the 10pk is excluded? i stopped buying them b/c of the new wording.
I believe that the last few Schick coupons that where out only excludes the "two" count packs. If I remember right it didn't say anything about excluding "any" other packs. But when I used them the printed journal also came up with me. I have fought them on it and told them that it says only excludes the two count packs.and have pointed it out to them and also pulled out the razors to show them what count I got 10 plus two in which makes =12 count not two. some of the cashiers have pushed it thru and some have just told me because of the printed journal coming up that there is nothing they can do. so good luck for anyone using this Q.

Ok,we all know that shopping at SWM is a big YMMV...............
1) Dist Mgrs name (or market mgr as they are now called) should be prominently displayed in the CS area along with the store mgr name. Don't hesitate to call them.

2) If they ask, just tell them that you purchased some fragrance last week and the cashier didn't remove the peelies, so you are using them now. Yes, as a matter of fact, I did purchase fragrance last week............no matter that the peelies expired in August of 2012...........

3) I realize that abandoning a cart is serious business...........I've done it a few times, after taking my time to get what I need, what I need to get "O" for payment and stand forever in a checkout waiting for my turn..........a waste of better than an hour time............then to have to go to another store and REDO it all over Mad

My experience with the assistant mgr/loss prevention guy on Saturday just goes to show----just because they are mgrs doesn't mean they know it all. All of us can be taught something new daily and they are no different. IME, calling Bentonville, not the 800 # but the 479#, make sure you let them know the details. I've had the most success with telling them that I took my time and energy and hard earned money to their store and got treated less than human............you are trying to provide for your family's needs in this time of economic uncertainty and that you spend approximately $$ (insert how much you approx. spend, in my case it was approx. $1200 per month. If WM doesn't need your money, well fine, you are active in one of the largest online communities (DON'T MENTION SLICK DEALS!!!) and difficulties with retailers are not taken lightly. Also let them know that you have family and friends that shop at the same WM and you'll be sure to let them know that xxxx street WM has enough money and doesn't need yours or theirs..........Emphasize hard earned money, providing for your family, etc.

Let them know that you have tried talking to store mgmt about this and they will not respond to you and you are sorry that it HAS to get to this level. I would specifically request that you get a call from the market mgr (DM) not the store manager. You want to speak to the store mgrs BOSS.
When he/she calls, just reiterate what you told Bentonville.

Be assertive but be nice.........stand up for yourself, no one else will.
Again, all of this is a great big YMMV. Hope it helps someone...........

To all those who called the Immediate Response team number... Give it some time. Every single time their store gets reported to that number they get "dinged" when it comes to bonuses and their customer satisfaction productivity. It messes with their bonuses so the Managers will eventually notice. Keep calling every time you have a problem. If you don't like what one rep has to say CALL BACK. I hope that helps!

Its not the Coty fragrances its DANA. They I knew soon as I read this info was in printables thread that you meant Dana, as they have a printable out, although it has typo's and I don't think I'll use it. Hopefully they'll correct the typo's.

Exactly!! If the glass is filthy, it won't recognize it..........

I was putting my haul from the last few days into tubs for storage...........how come they never have an episode of "Hoarders" with the hundreds/thousands of new items featured?
I honestly didn't know that I had THAT many fragrances, but like I have to keep reminding DH--they are paying for my groceries and HBAs just to bring some of this stuff home!! look around
Yikes! I saved some fragrances for the Yankee Swap, but stuff like that that no one will ever use goes straight into those food shelf donation bins on my way out of the store.

I found the coty peelies and got my groceries for $2 OOP! Thanks to everyone who explained this deal, I will work my way back to rep you all soon. Next stop, free diapers with the O!
