If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned in or is not used for it's intented purpose. This goes for ALL scanned (from a scanner) manufacturer coupons. This is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about "37000 coupons", SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

Common Abbreviations & Acronyms Throughout the thread, you may find some abbreviations and acronyms that are confusing, as some are very specific to Walmart. Here are some of the most common you'll see mentioned repeatedly.
  • AC = After Coupon(s) (as in, "I used 4 JJ MFQ's and 3 AF ETQ's, so my total AC was $1.23.")
  • BC = Before Coupon(s) (as in, "My total BC was $56.78.")
  • HTH = Hope That Helps
  • J&J = Johnson's & Johnson's or Juicy Juice
  • MQ = Manufacturer's Coupon
  • OOP = Out of Pocket
  • PA = Price Adjustment
  • PM (first meaning) = Private Message
  • PM (second meaning) = Price Match
  • PP = Polly Pocket
  • Q = Coupon
  • SWM = Super Walmart
  • WM = Walmart
  • YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (as in, something may or may not work for you)

Fine print says "Send us your receipt confirming a minimum purchase of $10 on any combination of the products featured in this promotion and get a $5 Walmart Gift Card by mail."

I wonder if "combination" means I have to buy at least one of each or if I can just buy multiple of the Comet. Scratchchin

If I can just buy the Comet, this works (Assuming the price is indeed, $1.24 each.):

$11.16 (Comet x 9)
-3.40 .85/2 Comet (x 4 IP's) HERE [allyou.com] *click "household"
-.35 .35/1 Comet IP HERE [allyou.com] *click "household"

= $7.41 oop

Get $5 GC

I'm not a fan of Comet but I know some folks who are.

Are the small coty fragrances on clearance now for $1.50 a regular stock item, meaning they will be restocked for $3 again soon, or were they a holiday item?

AFAIK it was only a holiday item. They were in the free bins marked $3. Maybe they'll be back for Valentine's day Wink Do check the regular aisle because my store must not have known they were clearance and stocked them there. Especially the Stetson because they have similar size box but larger purfume that is more expensive and the $3 ones were mixed w/ them.

I already have about $45 worth of overage gc's from those perfumes at $1.50, but I was really wondering if i should rush to wm to try to find even more peelies, and rush even more to find the perfumes for 1.50 before they run out of stock..

Btw, I found huge bags of chex mix for $1.88, which is cheaper than the small bags. As well, i'm not sure if all wm's carry the ON THE BORDER CHIPS, but if yours does, the huge 20oz bags are only 2.50, and they are the best. 22oz of the same chips is close to 4 bucks at sam's!

Yardley coupon is for two specific varieties the Sea Mineral one and the Mango one; they are slightly larger bars than the .97 cent ones. It has been awhile since I last checked Walmart, but they didn't carry them.
Gah! I should know by now that anytime I think I've found something that isn't already posted, it's probably a coupon misuse of some sort. Thanks anyway Frown

Found some of the cody peelies today. Never thought I'd see them in real life with all of our new qpon divas here. Lol
Well, I took a chance on the marked down stetsons. They went right in but showed up as a food qpon. Go figure.

The last time that All You did a Walmart GC rebate, it was limited to the 1st "undisclosed" number of entries. No ONE on any of the boards that I check rec'd the GC, but all of us rec'd a letter that the "limited number of GC's had been sent out" and that we were too late, Hopefully, this one is managed better.......

I'm over the moon right now. Took a trip to walmart fully expecting all the 1.50 coty item to be gone but took my coupons with me anyway. I actually found like 15 bottles spread out in the Christmas stuff. I only had 8 coupons so went looking for some more and even more surprising I found 3 more peelies. (gave those to my mom). Went to the register and she didn't even question them!! Probably helped that I got a gift card for the overage.

Just some stuff I learned from tonight: I remembered u guys telling me not to use more than 9 of the coupons at once (thanks) so I used 8 and got a gift card to cover the overage and some gum, we'll my calculations were off and it said 0.02 cents were owed to me and because of this it prompted for manager approval. So the two things I learned: 1) even after it prompts for the manager u can add things to make it so they don't owe you and it will make the prompt go away. 2) you can get a walmart gift card with just cents on it. I put the remaining 0.02 on a new gift card (because the register wouldn't let her load it on to the other gift card I got)

Sorry if this was already known, but it was certainly new to me

WTG on ur Christmas hunting finds.... >>high five<<<

Now thats something new to me about going backwards and putting another GC into the transaction. I actually had 2 supervisors questioning me on putting my "O" onto a GC, I was like I'll be back to spend the monies later... but its just interesting....

And these wonderful GCs can also purchase other GCs, I thought about getting a BK GC but calculating more bang for buck for burger & fries, I'd get more with store brand fries at 2$ per bag and stack of burgers for $5 and I havent even hit my $10 GC amt and the free soda which is tax + crv approx 25cents here in CA.

PS if u looking for a good PM item now its 50cents chimichanga burritos at Food4less, regular $1 each

I found it on a bunch of different ones, check Stetson, tim McGraw, playboy, Celine deon.there several more. I think the easiest thing really is just look for a red sticker that says $5 off. Theses are in the regular perfume/cologne aisle. Hopefully urs aren't locked up like some mentioned. Good luck!!

I've found that getting a gift card usually helps them get over the fact that their giving me money back. I swear one walmart the managers were dying a Lil bit inside for every dollar in cash they handed back to me and it was only like $26. And although u get more bang forur buck you gotta think about convenience , sure u could get all that stuff but it won't cook and prepare itself. LOL i guess I'm just lazy.
