If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Espa?ol [walmartstores.com]
We're committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we'll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.

At my small WM it is 75%, however, the Christmas jewelry is full price. I remember getting a snowflake necklace last year at this % off. It is boxed jewelry in a big Christmas cardboard stand but it is still over by jewelry counter and rings up full $5 price. Should I call store or am I wrong and it isn't going to go on sale?

It seems as the years go on, WM gets stingier and stingier. (For example, the xmas Ziploc bags are not included this year and last year they stopped marking down the Olay Regenerist gift sets). This sounds like the case with the jewelry this year; it is not intentionally marked down, but you can try your luck.

I had so much fun today! Something I would like to share:

Nexxus Repair and Protect and/or Ultimate Moisture Kit gift sets. Comes with a 13.5 oz shampoo, 13.5 oz conditioner, and a microfiber towel.

These ring up 75% off ! (was $19.99 now $4.97). In 3 stores I visited, I found these in the regular aisles tagged full price and 1 store had a 3 sided display in the center aisle marked either $9.95 or $9.98 (not sure). I scanned them just because they say "gift set" on them. I stocked up, just hope this is some decent product. The employees thought I was nuts buying them for full price, haha!

Good Luck Hunting!!!

I picked up christmas jewelry today and it scanned at 75% off. There were 2 WM employees scanning each item and changing the price to 75% off. They said if anything wasnt ringing 75% to tell cashier and they would adjust the price. Not sure but maybe they just didnt scan it in there pda and change the price....On a side note I did find Glade air freshners in nutcracker fagrance at 75% off they were .75 each and I had the 2/2 any glade holiday collection IP's (which I think were from facebook but NLA) So I got a little overage from those and I was able to find dana men's cologne (the stinky kind lol) for $1.25 each and I had the 2 ip so a little overage there.....All in all not a bad day,,,,,,bounceWink

Went to a store that still had at least five aisles of Christmas clearance! Found plenty of Disney princess nail polishes and lip gloss for $.25 for my daughter's birthday goody bags in April. Lots of Disney jewelry sets, tons of body wash, hair clips, etc. I don't think my closer store ever had that much!

I did find a tin of Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate on the regular hot cocoa shelf that rang 75%. Also found the toothbrush sets on the regular shelf. The strangest thing that didn't ring up is a girl's long sleeve shirt with the princesses that actually said "A Royal Holiday." Hard to argue that it wasn't for Christmas, but they refused to adjust it. Oh well. I was pretty happy with my haul!

Amazingly enough, Coty peelies are still being stocked. (My area has the ones that expire 6/2013.) Bought 2 lonely little perfumes at $0.75 and 15 $10 stetson gift packs at $2.33. Had to buy beer to cover my "O".... aw, shucks. (I don't like to get cash back when my toddler is in the shopping cart, since it's so unpredictable how easy it might be.)
