If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.

I don't know about peelies, but there is a $2 on any bag insert coupon that can be used on the $1 bags if you can find them.
Thanks. I didn't get that insert in my paper, which is not unusual at all.

found $2 peelies on any size vidal sasson....works fine on the small bottles priced $2.48

I wonder, will it work with the new Q coming out this weekend? (buy shampoo or conditioner, get styler free). Is there a way to tell with the new barcodes?

Friend of mine told me she found Biotene books at WM - 1.25/1 ANY Biotene. I haven't looked at my closest store but found them in a city about 20 min from me, the small mouth rinse is $.97.
$.28 Moneymaker on each.

we have inserts too, without restriction which makes them free if you can find them too.

$1/1 Biotene 01/06/2013 RP Insert (exp 02/28/2013)
$2.50/2 Biotene 01/06/2013 RP Insert (exp 02/28/2013)
I found a ton of these biotene books. I think no one has thought to pick them up because they just look like a regular pamphlet. They were in the aisle in front of the pharmacy in my store, on the side of a round display filled with travel sized biotene.

Quick question. If you buy something with a flexible spending account card, from last year, and no longer have a FSA, how are they supposed to handle a return? Store credit?

There are at least 6 different varieties priced at $1 apiece. The coupon works on any of them. As best as I could recall, they come in steak/chicken with cheese for burrito/chimichanga/breakfast burrito. I bought 42 of them with no issue whatsoever and I like chicken chimis the best. You could probably pick one of each and try them first.

Btw, last time when the coupon for a free El Monterey came out, it didn't work on the items priced at 68 cents for some reason. I didn't purchase those this time around to avoid any complications. So, I have no knowledge if $1 off coupons would work on the cheaper ones as well.
Just an FYI that I purchased the$.68 cent items as well as the $1.00 ones in the same trxn and all of the coupons scanned beeplessly and with no issues.

Where did you find the .68 ones? I only found the large burritos at $1.00 in the fresh deli area others have described.
I looked in the frozen section and didn't find any El Monterey brand single serve items.

Just a hint: I think they come to them frozen, so dig towards the bottom or back of pile, I found some that felt a little frozen (hard). They were all clearly dated with a white sticker and in bold a use by date.

The meat and beans was good, but the cheese and beans was yukky. No taste at all.

I found some of the small .68 (?) ones De Dino mentions, but at my grocery store. Frozen section on 'sale' for 4/$5. The varieties looked good so I bought 4, pd .25 each. Just wanted to have something for a quick snack.

All of the El Monterrey were in the frozen food section behind glass. There were only two .68 cent items but they were in with the $1.00 items.
