What do I need for installing a Bluetooth car stereo receiver?

I plan on getting it done at Best Buy, but I'm just wondering what parts I need other than a receiver (it comes with a mic if that makes a difference). Do I just need a single din dash kit and wiring harness or is there anything else? I figure it'll be cheaper getting them on Amazon than Best Buy.

That's hard to answer because it'll vary from car to car so greatly.

A great resource will be CrutchField.com - type in your car model and pick the stereo, they'll show you everything you need including trim adapters, wiring harnesses, etc.

Are you getting a BT capable car stereo installed? Like this Pioneer [bestbuy.com]

If you're having BB do it, then you don't need anything as they will be installing the deck. Or are you looking to do it yourself?

I was planning on having BB do it. Are you sure? Because it sounded like they would charge for extra parts when I asked them about installation fees awhile back. I would ask exactly what I need but they didn't have someone who could answer my question in today.

You're buying the parts on Amazon to save money but you're going to a big box retailer for the installation? Why not try a local car shop. I'm sure you know someone who knows a mechanic willing to do it cheaper than best buy

If you're buying a bluetooth integrated car deck - then nothing extra is needed other than your device/smartphone to pair with. There is an option of a bluetooth microphone to add, but not sure if you need that depending on the deck you get. But if you're not familiar with installing car decks, I would highly recommend having someone who is install it.

These links have some good info:
