ISO: Best Wireless Plan for Corporate Employee in NYC

Hi

I have been a Sprint customer for 16 years. I get a 26% discount through my company and for the most part, I have been satisfied.

But towards the end of last year, by bill went up. I called, complained and they started changing my plan to "save me money" and each time, the total cost went UP! I am really pissed off and will now consider switching.

From what I can tell, they have:

-reduced the monthy base charge to almost nothing... $30 for me. That was probably by design, to screw people like me, who get 26% off monthly plan charges.

-the cost was shifted over to a PER PHONE charge. I buy my phones at a discount, usually for $1 from Bestbuy with a 2 year contract. But now... my parent's phone is $15 extra per month... it's a @#$%$# flip phone that is more than six years old. My daughter just got a new iPhone6 last year, that is FORTY dollars extra a month. So is my wife's Galaxy Note 4. My 3 year old Galaxy S4 is $20 a month because it was purchased prior to Sep 2014 or something. None of these per phone charges get the corporate discount.

My bill has skyrocketed from $198 per month (for 4 lines, unlimited talk, text and data with free global roaming) to $236 (taxes included) now (for 4 lines, unlimited talk, text and 80 GB to share).

We mostly use the phones to text and for phone calls. We have never actually used more than 2GB in any month.

Can I do better?

THANKS in advance!

Btw, I would understand if Sprint did what they did to recoup costs for the phones. But my mom's phone is six years old, how do they justify $15 a month for an ancient flip phone? My phone is out of contract and if the $40 charge dropped off, I would be willing to pay for 2 years and see how long I can go without a new phone.

I know they want everyone to lease, but I hate the concept that after pay hundreds of dollars over 2 years, I own nothing. Its like renting your apartment. If you can afford not to (and know you will be in the area for the forseeable future, etc) you should buy.
