  • What is Binge On?
Binge On lets you stream all detectable video—optimized for viewing on your smartphone or tablet—from included streaming services without using up your high-speed data when you have a qualifying Simple Choice plan (3 GB or higher). Binge On is automatically enabled and ready to go, but you can turn it off at any time. It's your choice.

Note: Only video streaming is included. Data used to load and browse content on streaming provider apps and websites, as well as any advertisements that stream prior to, or during, your selected video's playback, also counts toward your high-speed data.

  • Does Binge On apply to video streamed while tethering?

When Binge On is enabled, streaming video from participating Binge On providers never touches your high-speed data allotment if you're tethering from a smartphone, tablet, or mobile internet device to a laptop, desktop, tablet, or handset. Other devices aren't currently supported by the Binge On program.
  • Does Binge On video streaming data count towards the prioritization threshold? from http://www.t-mobile.com/offer/bin...video.html

Yes. Data usage that may not count against your plan's high-speed data bucket, like Binge On data, still counts towards your overall data usage. This doesn't affect your bill and you'll never see data overage charges. This is used to determine whether you fall into a small percentage of ultra-heavy network users, and ensure the best possible network experience for all users. This policy is explained on our Open Internet page http://www.t-mobile.com/Company/C...etServices .
    • Network Management for Extremely High Data Usage
To provide the best possible experience for the most possible customers, and to minimize capacity issues and degradation in network performance, we manage significant high-speed data usage through prioritization. Specifically, customers who use more data than what 97% of all customers use in a month, based on recent historical averages (updated quarterly), will have their data usage de-prioritized compared to the data usage of other customers at times and at locations where there are competing customer demands for network resources, which may result in slower data speeds. Customers who use data in violation of their Rate Plan terms or T-Mobile's Terms and Conditions may be excluded from this calculation. Data features that may not count against the high-speed data allotment for some plans, such as certain data associated with Music Freedom or Binge On, still counts towards all customers' usage for this calculation. Smartphone Mobile HotSpot (tethering) data is also included in this calculation. Based on network statistics for the most recent quarter, customers who use more than 25GB of data during a billing cycle will be de-prioritized for the remainder of the billing cycle in times and at locations where there are competing customer demands for network resources. At the start of the next bill cycle, the customer's usage status is reset, and this data traffic is no longer de-prioritized.

BingeON is terrible for consumers. If unlimited streaming is not a problem then tell me why do we have data caps?

Everyone should downvote this on principle. Youtube being a part of this farce just gives it legitimacy which is exactly what we don't need. Either make the data cap go away or extend it to something far more reasonable.

I also want to add that you can actually Binge On on a Free-for-life-200mb data plan on a tablet.
If that's true, that is huge. I have one in my iPad mini.
