Just saw the Samsung Smartthings Hub, 2nd Gen [amazon.com] price go down this morning to $79.00, new in box.

I just bought this a couple weeks ago for $99, and so far have been really happy with it.

Previous deals under $100 seem to have been for refurbished hubs. I did search and haven't found the price this low posted recently. Be gentle! Big Grin

biggest negative about Smartthings is that everything is routed through Samsung's cloud server. when they have issues, you have issues. And this is frequent...http://status.smartthings.com

Thanks for saving me some money, I pulled the trigger with Amazon and then canceled after reading your post.

I ordered it through Amazon and then saw how users were stacking codes to get it cheaper through smartthings. Contacted Amazon support to see if they would price match and was told they would not. Cancelled order. Their loss.

It has its issues but if you use Rule Machine it works a lot better than the other smart apps they offer. Its still in a "beta" phase so I wouldnt count on it to be 100% reliable but nothing really is.

Does this have local control or is it just another spy hub?

What are the other options besides Smartthings. I have WEMO plug and Dlink plugs that I control with Apps on my phone for lights and a RadioThermostat that I can control with my phone. Can I use these things with the Hub?
