I just got this from the Bestbuy deal weeks ago. Beautiful 4K image, fast Android OS, horrible 3D crosstalk. Don't get it if 3D is a big deal to you.
Sony has been offering 4k equipment (specifically, projectors) since 2004. Not to consumers, of course, but the statement isn't all that false.

Yeah I read that about the 3D on this tv. I was totally considering it too. Tv's with active 3D usually have some crosstalk wish they didn't change to active this model it was passive last year.

why not save money on 810c deals then? it's the same model without 3d

But I love 3D =) I just didn't realize how untenable poorly implemented active 3D is compared to bad passive 3D. The flaws are much mroe noticeable on active 3D. On top of that, the flickering on active 3D becomes quite apparent once I pan my head to follow a scene.

I wonder if the Samsung active 3D on the JS8500 is better than the Sonys. Please chime in if you have seen 3D on the Sammy. As reference, my old LG m7600 with passive 3D had minor crosstalk but it was not distracting. I just couldnt stand the half vertical resolution since I sit close.

Anyone know the best deal on a 4K 55" LED TV with HDR and passive 3D? Thanks.

I have spent hours at BB comparing both LG passive and Samsung active. IMHO, Passive 3D is way to go. Also bigger 60/65" screens gave me that "immersed" into 3D feeling.

Yes, I agree. 3D is dead. :-(
Samsung announced future TV models will have 4K without 3D.
