Is search broken?

Seems like the search function doesn't always find everything.

Example: This morning, I saw a thread in the Hot Deals forum titled "Logitech MK320 Keyboard..." with the post dated around 9:55am today. I remembered "Oh, yeah, I'm in the market for a keyboard", just not that particular keyboard. So I search all forums for "Keyboard" and sorted by last post.

Twice, the search did not return the aforementioned MK320 thread even though the thread title definitely contained "keyboard". On the third try, it did show that thread in the list.

So I'm left to wonder...is search somehow broken?

Hi,
I'm not positive it's related so my apologies if it's not...but you might want to check out this thread and post your issue there...

Thanks for reporting this. In general there could be up to a 5 minute delay for our search to grab new stuff, but definitely shouldn't take longer than that. You mentioned you tried 3 times to search, how far apart were those searches? Do you recall when you performed those searches? Either way we will look into it but that info might help!

The first two searches were maybe 2 minutes apart. Enough time for me to realize "Didn't I see a Logitech keyboard thread?" and retry the search with capital letters the second time. Third search was a few minutes later after I'd gone back to H.D. forum to verify that the thread hadn't been deleted or anything.

Perhaps the 5-minute delay you mentioned was the culprit.
