That was a pre-release special and hasn't been anywhere near that price since until now.
I have this phone... great phone but has minor issues. ringtones, touch sensitivity issues etc.. make sure you get a good one... I bought 4 and 1 out of the 4 had this touch issue. charging is slow also at first, just put the update when you get it. so charge overnight.

-poor external speaker quality ( when in calls)
-$99 is a steal if you get a good unit.
-1080p, 2ram and microsd up to 64gig
Gee too bad it isn't an Apple IPhone 6s or Samsung Galaxy S7 or I would be all over this...

SARCASM OVER...GREAT GREAT DEAL ON THE BEST PHONE FOR THE MONEY PERIOD

I thought Amazon used to tell us, but does this run pure android? Or does it have their skin?

It's very close to straight android, and has almost no bloatware

Gsmarena says that it does have band 12 but for some reason I did not think it did. Hmmmm. Worth the risk for 100, i think?

It run true Android 5.1
Yes, the LTE band 12 is turned ON. However, who know you can use it with T-Mobile or not? Issue from the T-Mobile, not the phone itself.
Like the previous comment, this phone does have problem with touch sensitive, slow charge, and random problem with ringtone (no ringtone even when you have it on.)
WIth me, even with $99.99 it is not worth when you have to frustrate with those issue. Spend little more for BLU Vivo XL, I can say thousand times better: fast charge, bigger screen, perfect.
