This is a really nice lens. I got it during the deal around Christmas. I don't know the seller though and whether they are an authorized Sigma seller for warranty purposes. There isn't any company named on http://www.sigmaphoto.com/where-to-buy-sigma named Electronics Valley in or near Somerset NJ.

Ahhh... in their Terms and Conditions:

Our products are covered by a warranty of 1 years parts and 90 days for labor. Due to our very low low prices, we are prevented from listing our items with manufacturer warranty. Rest assured, our products are the same as if you bought in stores.

This is a Sigma DC lens... you want a DG lens for full frame.

Great lens, and great price. It was annoying getting used to the reverse zoom at first.

Sucks I just had a friend asking for recommendations that ended up buying a used Tamron non-VC for not much less than this.

Is this grey market? Warranty would be through the seller and not Sigma, correct?

So your guess is as good as mine who the warranty is through.

Seller.

It would not matter at what price the lens is sold at. It does not put stipulations on a products warranty.

While the whole grey market, get it cheaper, thing is nice. As soon as the manufacturers start clamping down with trademark infringements on these sellers for avoiding the US supply chains and importing without permission those warranties are going to be useless.

Not to mention if the seller folds overnight you're screwed. You are at the mercy of the seller as to how they handle the situation and who they send the lens to for repair. Plus at what length of time you have to wait for such to be done. Most likely they will have to export it back out of the US to the place of origin.

review http://www.lenstip.com/256.11-Len...mmary.html
this is tempting, i have a 10-24, 35, 18-55(kit) and a 18-200 (hate it). i could sell off my kit to justify the upgrade since it is so cheap. grrr..... don't need it but so want it.
