Existing customers will have a plan added to the cart which will be credited back. The amount you pay for your plan will show up as a bill credit.

New customers will need to buy a monthly plan to get the $9.99 price.

There is currently a $50 transfer in credit available, but if you use an Amazon sim instead of a sim that you buy at cricketwireless.com or the Cricket store, you void the $50 transfer in credit.

Also, if you are a new customer, be sure to get a $25 referral credit as well.

When you order from CricketWireless.com, they ship with UPS, required signature. The default address in their system is the billing address of the credit card/debit card you use. You will not be allowed to change your shipping address or pick the phone up at a UPS office. Someone must be at the address to sign for the phone.

As a cricket user with a OnePlus one, are there any downsides to buying it? Seems real cheap to have as a cheap backup.

You don't have to sign up for a new plan -- you're just prepaying for one month's service when you order

oh, so if I buy one and put a $40 in cart it will just charge me 50 and put 40 credit in my account? If so that's an awesome deal!

I'm going to upgrade my HTC Desire 510 fleet since Lollipop will never come for them & apps are really starting to not install anymore due to device requirements. I better be able to root & hotspot these guys!

Upgrade is the weirdest thing ever, not sure why they can't devote time to making it make sense for existing customers:
Login to Cricket acct-Ensure you're on the Overview tab.
Expand the dropdown on the line you want to upgrade
Click the Upgrade Your Phone button
At Cart screen it will have this disclaimer for the plan-One-Month Plan Payment

Yes. Anytime you upgrade, they just require that you pay for the next month of service in-advance and credit you accordingly.

Got one of the Risio devices as a throw-in when I was porting a line a while back. Haven't used it much, but doesn't seem to be a bad phone. Has some nice LG features like double-tapping the screen to wake and voice-announced callerid.

For a $10'er, why not. I pay the monthly fee anyway, so might as well grab a back-up phone. Do you have to activate the phone for the credit to apply? I just ordered and do not see the credit in my balance.

Perfect, that did it. Since I hit my $250 referral credit limit for the year, thought maybe the credit wouldn't/didn't apply. It did, thx. Might as well grab one on all of my accounts.

Not to thread jack, but my buddy has Cricket and bought a used Nexus 5 and he is having issues with losing the network data connection quite a bit... Do the phones Cricket sell simply work better than trying to use a random unlocked phone with them?

I used a Cricket Moto G LTE for quite a while before purchasing an unlocked Asus Zenfone 2 about 6 months ago. I have noticed no difference in connection quality between the 2 phones, so I would say no.

For existing customers, does the phone actually need to be activated on the line?
