Good morning, I have T-Mobile and am looking to buy my new smart phone outright, or should i?

I have a Discover card, Wells Fargo Platinum card and a Capital One Mastercard, they all seem to offer some kind of cell phone protection, should I pay for my new phone on my credit card or just lease it from T-Mobile for a $26/$28mo payment.

Please advise.

swappa.com. A mint to very good condition used phone is a lot cheaper than buying new from those crooks at any of the wireless providers.

There are a lot of deals on LG G3s that are popping up on the front page.

Personally I would pay for a new phone instead of leasing. Feels good to be done with it in one fell swoop.
Depending on the phone you are interested in, I'd buy from Amazon unlocked using the CC of your choice. Your card has cell-phone protection and Amazon has no question returns for the first 30 days as well so you can sleep easy.

you can definitely find deals on here to buy outright. I bought mine outright, just because I don't like to pileup payments...and it was like $15 less. do you have the money to buy outright comfortably?

I would definitely consider the Jump on Demand program. It is a leasing program, but it costs nothing extra should you decide you want to buy the phone. There is no additional buyout fee. So it would be like an EIP. This plan allows you to upgrade 3 times a year to the newest phones as well. I absolutely love racking up the promotions they offer such as Samsung's year of Netflix with each S and Note release. I also nabbed a Gear VR with the S7 Edge, all for free.

Although it might be hard to get signed up for JoD now. T-mobile just removed all employee compensation for JoD signups. It is still 100% possible, but it might be hard finding an employee to do it for you since they won't get paid for it. I've heard people have had success through their twitter T-force reps should you go this route.

Ditch high price on Tmobile and get prepaid plans. I went $120 Verizon to $80 Tmobile to $35 Cricket to $0 Ring+. I bought phones from Swappa and Craigslist(make sure to check IMEI or ESN).

Do math if you want to lease the phone.

$600 for 2 years with nothing on your hand after 2 years
vs
$500 unlocked phone for 2 years, phone will cost around $2-250 after 2 years plus you saved $100.

How is ring plus making money then? Free service but you pay for the data as you go?

What ads? You have to watch ads on your phone?

I second swappa - you can get a virtually brand new phone for a good discount. Most plans, the best "pricing" you are getting is a phone at MSRP but spread out over time (at least it's a 0% loan basically).
