Just a heads up. The newer model DPX502BT is only $115 on Amazon ($149 at BB). Basically the same stereo but with a few newer features like Android Rapid Charge.

Check out Crutchfield.com to see if, when you input your car, it allows double din.

I googled "2005 Altima double din" and found that they do sell kits depending on your car's dash configuration.

However Crutchfield will likely let you know if you need just the dash kit for fit, or if you need some kind of adapter to make it work behind the dash.

For instance I know that around 99/00 GM and I believe Toyota started incoporating door song actuators, security devices, etc in their radios, which meant you had to buy an adapter to supplement those functions when installing an after market radio.

I don't necessarily recommend purchasing the adapters/kits from Crutchfield due to price, but some Googling should find what you need.

If you're going to self install, you will likely find that Kenwood will include a harness that comes from the back of the radio to a bunch of bare wires. To use that you would cut the wires coming to the factory radio harness, then connect each wire individually, cross referencing the wiring colors for the radio harness with the wiring colors for the Nissan.

Instead of that, you can get a "Kenwood to universal" harness, and a "Universal to Nissan" harness, and just plug the Kenwood directly into your factory harness behind the dash. Works great.

You'll likely see the part numbers from Metra on Crutchfield, but you can Google them and save a ton of money on EBay or elsewhere.

Hope this helps.

With the proper parts, yes.
70-1761 and 95-8204 if the car is non JBL

$80 for a double din name brand is a great deal.

I've tried googling but still don't know: is there a source somewhere that would tell me what else I'd need to install this in a 2005 Nissan Altima? I've read reviews in several places where people make mention of adapters of sorts (I'm clueless about all of this), but can't figure out what exactly I'd have to buy in addition to this.

Thanks! What's your recommendation for where I should get that stuff?

After searching a bit I found this: http://m.ebay.com/itm/351695833363?fits=Year%3A2005%7CMake%3ANissan%7CModel%3AAltima

would that be all I needed to install this?
