Been looking for the best price on a vitamix for a while and here Costco shows up and knocks off $60 bounce Soo that's $340 before tax, title, tags?

The sale ends May 1, here's the linky: http://www.costco.com/warehouse-c...ffers.html

I've been looking for a good Vitamix deal for a couple weeks now (yes, I know not too long). My take is that it is better to buy direct or from an authorized retailer so you don't have any doubts about the warranty.

Also, for those interested Vitamix vs. Blendtec - Blendtec is BETTER at blending with less liquids, you will have to use the tamper from time to time but it will be significantly less frequent than a Vitamix. HOWEVER, Blendtec is so loud I thought it was about to blast off into space. Therefore, no bueno in a condo. Soo I decided to go Vitamix =]

Enjoy!

Yah but if your lucky you could get a blendtec for $135 at Homegoods! I love mine. I have been using it everyday for the past 3 weeks.

Whoa did you really pick up a blendtec from homegoods?! That's a nice find there, I only pick up smoked salts and other condiments once in a while. Which model was it?

The 570. The same one Costco sells. There is a thread here if you do a search.

Thought Blendtec don't have Tampers and seem to pride themselves on that?

How is easy is this to clean compared to blendtec?

Have they fixed the black dust issue?

They don't come with a tamper but when I tried making a thick smoothie in it, I needed to stop once or twice. Adding more liquid always solves the problem but you end up with a thinner end product. I had to use a tamper and the machine is loud beyond belief, so I regretfully had to go with Vitamix Mad

Also, just to note- the "Will it Blend" youtube series uses the top of the line Blendtec blender.

To my knowledge, they replaced the containers that were causing the black spec issue.

Cleaning is about the same between a Vitamix and Blendtec. After blending, fill the container 1/4th with water and a couple drops of soap- blend for 15 seconds and you'll be fine. I've never had to scrub anything but if I did I wouldn't imagine it would be that difficult.

Got the 6500 for $420. Difference is the 3 automated settings. Frozen dessert, smoothies and hot soup.
