Looking to go on a trip to possibly Jamaica, never bought a vacation package or anything like this.
It would be me and my girlfriend and definitely looking for All-Inclusive (Which most of them seem to be)

Any advice on buying a vacation package? Looking to go around October/November.
http://www.cheapcaribbean.com has the lowest prices I've seen but are they trustworthy?
I found a package for 5 nights in October at the Grand Palladium All-Inclusive for about $1,000. For some reason it was only $55 extra per person for the HoneyMoon Suite.

Any advice is appreciated for a first time traveler.

You can checkout www.applevacations.com/ for possible deals. I'm going next week to the Grand Palladium. I typically don't do all-inclusive - not my style, but trying this one out. 4 days and 3 nights for about $600 leaving from ORD - not great, but not bad for a quick get away. If you want more specific feedback on the hotel, reach out after the 18th of April.

Try Costco Travel - by far the best prices I have ever seen. You have to become a member, but you save on average $500 on any vacation trip. Just did a Jamaica Trip for $2,600 - two rooms, all inclusive, partial ocean-front, 5 Nights - at the Hilton Rose. Good Luck!

Wow that sounds like a pretty good deal with 2 rooms. I will have to look into that.

went to Jamaica about 8 years ago and booked through Cheap Caribbean. we got a cheap rate with airfare and stayed in montego bay. I wasn't really picky since we got the trip for such a low price, but found the hotel was perfectly fine. if you get an extremely low rate in the US, then you are paying for a cheaper and possibly lower end hotel room. I found this not so in countries like Jamaica. had a very good time and staff was wonderful. you get more bang for your buck there, if you want to pay more, then yes you will get a much nicer hotel, but the cheaper ones are perfectly acceptable.

Also try vacationexpress.com they offer direct charter flights from several cities so you might be able to get a nice package deal through them as well

Like anything else, a lot has to do with your desires and budget. My wife and I went here http://bluefieldsvillas.com/ 5 years ago for our anniversary and vow renewal. I cannot put into words the amazing week they provided us. We rented a car and they even supplied a driver free of charge to take us anywhere we wanted. We rented Cottonwood Cottage and it was just magical. Your own chef, butler, housekeeper and groundsperson there to meet your every wish. Wow, I'm getting flushed just writing this and thinking about that week. bounce

We stayed an a resort that we exchanged as a timeshare and the people in the next room bought through Cheap Caribbean. She said that they use CC all the time and always had good value. All Inclusive is probably the best way to go in Jamaica. We didn't go off resort on our own -- only on tours.

At this point i'm pretty much zeroed in on The Grand Palladium Resort & Spa.
So far the best I've found was on BookIt for a little under $1,000 a person, that includes 5 nights, round trip flight, shuttle from airport to hotel, and travel insurance.
I signed up for email club and received a $70 promo code to use.
This is for October 24th-29th

I'm leaning towards this at the moment.

if you're planning to do at least one activity outside your resort, I suggest the Dunns River Falls Tour.

I go to Jamaica every year for two weeks. I used travel prior to being married and now a parent. I have a five year old. It's amazing vacation each year. You can go off the resorts. The locals will not harm you. You only need to sensible and firmly say no to pan-handling. If you resort allows it, please don't forget to tip. The resort workers make very little money per day. A few dollars here or there can really help them. If there are clothes that you will no longer wear, please give them away to the workers. They could really use them.

Iagree I've booked two vacations with Costco now and always save a few hundred dollars compared to the other places I looked to book at.

Just got back from Jamaica two days ago. $3,000 for one room, 5 nights, including flight, all-inclusive, adults-only, ocean view room, two people. Stayed at Couples Tower Isle. It was great! Includes food, drinks, transportation to/from airport, snorkeling, scuba, Dunn's River Falls, and more.

I'll also suggest using Club Mobay at the Montego Bay airport. We didn't use it on the way in, but got lucky with the line we were directed to for customs. The non-kiosk customs line was insane! Definitely booking Club Mobay for the arrival next time we go.
And the packages we've booked with Costco have included club mobay for the return flight. It was great! Lots of snacks and drinks Cheers
