You won't.

You'll need to figure out what the password was / reset the password. Hopefully it's saved somewhere in a password manager, web browser, email client, sticky note, etc.

it's a feature called device protection designed to make stolen phones harder to use.

even if you could reset the password, you could still have problems at this point.

You need to signin with a google page, you can't really just bypass it and have a "smart" phone. If you know the email address or what it was you can go the web and try signing in or going through the reset process there. This is how you save all the contacts etc and way more.

If all else fails you can make a new account and signin with that. No reason to scrap the phone if you can't remember you google password after a reset.

i tried the original google login info.no go.i tried my gmail account no go.there's no option to start a new google account.it's asking for the original google account.the phone was acting a bit wonkey before the reset.dad couldnt swipe to open the android screen.

I don't think you did a full reset then. Any phone or tablet have ever done a factory restore to boot back up asking to go through the entire setup process again which the first step of that is to add a google account. Regardless you should be able to recover the orignal google account from the web by going through the reset process.

For the future if your going to create a "Throw away" like account best write the info down and put it in a safe spot.

Read your own link... it talks about android device protection and states among other things:

It's imperative the GoogleTM email address and password are known before performing a reset on the device.

Not all phones default where to save contacts too, some silly manufactures or carriers prefer you store it in their app or service. Make sure when he is entering new contact he saves them to google this time. Another option would be to add them on the PC to Gmails contacts and have them sync down to the phone. Usually this is much easier then typing it on the phone itself.
