File attachments cannot have the same file names

If I upload file attachment files/URLs with the same filename, then an upload will overwrite a previous upload with the same name and only the last uploaded file remain in the post. Files on sites like eBay use the "pathname" to distinguish different files that have the same URL "filename". For example, these 4 files cannot coexist as file attachments in a post.

Code:
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MqwAAOSwI3RW8gLy/s-l400.jpg
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Bh8AAOSwdU1W8gLx/s-l400.jpg
C:\UploadedFromMyComputer\Folder1\s-l400.jpg
C:\UploadedFromMyComputer\Folder2\s-l400.jpg
I suppose uploaded files from a post are stored in the same folder on the server with the uploaded name (or in the database with the filename as key) so there cannot be more than 1 file with the same name. I'm using Classic Mode/Full Site if that matters.

I can live with this issue. There are workarounds like downloading everything locally, giving them different names, then uploading. I just want to let others know about this so they don't waste time attaching a dozen images from like eBay Smilie

While we are on the subject of attachments....

I have not been able to use the auto-image selector for any deal I post for Newegg for over a month.

Not sure if it's a browser-related issue or something is broken. I use the latest version of Firefox.

The auto-images populate based off the links in the OP, but if I select one, it doesn't upload it to the deal. The check mark appears, then disappears a few seconds later.

Would you mind posting this in a new thread? I don't believe it's the same issue as the OP's and that way the devs will see it better hopefully. I think something may have recently changed in how SD handles non standard pic urls such as Newegg and various other sites use, but not sure. fwiw, QA is running into same issues.

(SD never allowed same file names far as I can remember, so that's different than something that may have recently broken, so better separate thread for it I think)

Done: HERE

I've noticed a lot of QA's using the screenshots as images, so I figured something was up. I know how to pull the images manually from Newegg, but it's a pain, especially when I'm making threads early in the AM.

Thumbup Yeah it's a pita, but I generally just save it to my pc then upload, vs screenshot but yeah some qa do that instead.
