Patagonia is having a web sale that isn't supposed to start until 4/13, but its already live. If you need some winter gear, check it out now. Their good sizes sell out really quickly. Free shipping over $75. No coupon codes needed for free shipping. They do charge tax, FYI.

Be aware, if you buy from Patagonia and have to return, YOU PAY the return shipping. It goes to Reno, NV and can be pricey ($10 for me to return an item from earlier in the year)

I picked up a Snap-T fleece for $59, normally these are $120+, so a good savings there.

Good luck.

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. Sure, if you are using their jacket to keep you warm on the 100 ft trek from the car to the mall entrance a $30 jacket will do just as well. But dont try to take that $30 jacket in the back country; or rely on it to keep you mostly dry in a strong rainfall that you can't get out of for a couple of hours; or think that you will not smell like a skunk after wearing it for a week on the trail without bathing. This is where you see the difference between $30 and $300. Go out on the trail in a cheap rsinshell, spend the night shivering in damp clothes and believe me, the first thing you will do when you come back is buy a bomb proof shell from Patagonia, Arcteryx, MH, Marmot or some such. Been there, done that.
If you actually read the way patagonia products are manufactured you will realize there really is quite a difference, what you know and think you know are quite different. My 15 year old jackets are worn but not really relics and still handle multi day AT trips amazingly well. Some people on this site want cheap stuff, others want good stuff cheap. I'd rather pay $200 bucks for a great pair of boots that last over 10 years, others would rather buy crappy 20-30 dollar boots every 6 months to a year. The judging that goes on here is ludicrous...

Tried to place an order at $59 just to see what shipping was and it was going to let me place the order and said it would update with shipping cost and taxes later..no thanks. Something about upgrading their system.

Is this just another Northface (hip mountaineering/climbing apparel)? I am curious because all the manufacturing for the pricey jackets say they are all made in Vietnam. Or is the quality much better?

If you've never heard of Patagonia, it's probably not for you.

Most of these items are overpriced, but there are a few here and there at a decent price.

Thank you for the snide comment! Smilie Could anybody explain in a logical way why Patagonia is different than Northface, because from what I am seeing both make broad appeal climbing gear that is manufactured in Vietnam. Is their customer service better? Because from what another poster said, the fact that return shipping is paid by you, I am having trouble seeing what puts Patagonia on a different plane than Northface.
