Found this at Sam's club and ordered it. Great price i think for a NVR system, 1080p, with 6 poe IP cameras (2 MP), plus a 2TB hard drive at Sam's club. i ordered one yesterday.

http://www.samsclub.com/sams/ezvi...navAction=

$499 and free shipping, tax for most i would think

Not sure if its all systems, but i like it has ability to specify which areas for each camera will trigger the motion sensing, so i can easily remove portions of the field of view (like the roadway) so its not constantly being tripped. looking forward to getting this and getting it installed.

This is over $200 cheaper than the same unit on Amazon that only includes 4 cameras.

Newegg has the same package (6 cameras) for $699

Is it possible to make one of the camera feeds public? For example, adding it to the list of Wunderground webcams [wunderground.com]? So I think I'm asking if the images can be auto-uploaded to an FTP location, like described here [wunderground.com].

can it be easily linked to SmartThings? i.e. trigger for lights to go on etc.
If not - any alternatives to buying ugly Samsung cameras

Noob here - can I easily hook something like this up to sync pseudo-real-time to the cloud somewhere so I can remotely access it while traveling, and for short-term video backups?

Never heard of this brand, but if it's made by Hikvision, might have to get in on this.

Edit: what I like about this one is all 6 network cables are 100'. Most systems I've looked at only have 2 100' cables, with the rest being 60'.

I prefer 3MP cameras.

I would too, but I'm looking for the best bang for my dollars. What is the real world difference between 2mp and 3mp in terms of resolution? I'm just looking for some extra added security, more so as a deterrent to thieves when they see the cameras. As long as 2mp isn't some grainy video, I'd be ok with that.

Do these cameras support 802.3af? I already have BlueIris setup with a PoE switch so I don't need the NVR, but the cameras are a really good deal.

If it's actually HIKVISION made cameras, it's nice price. I looked at the NVR manual, for the life of me, it almost seems like all these NVRs are made or use the same hardware/firmware. Besides a little graphics difference, the GUI looks exactly like the one in my zmodo NVR which is sluggish and doesn't work very well for triggers/alerting.
