Amazon Prime Membership

Does anyone know or expect this to go on sale any time soon? I think I renewed last time (13+ months ago) through some promo gift membership purchase, but dont know if I should wait. Do they have a history of offering promos on it during certain months?

Sidebar:
Its too bad they dont offer it on the cheap without the instant library benefits. Or if they offered a way to bank credit by deferring to standard shipping. (Like the digital / pantry credits.)
Don't have Amazon Prime? Students can get a free 6-Month Amazon Prime trial with free 2-day shipping, unlimited music, unlimited video streaming & more. If you're not a student, there's also a free 1-Month Amazon Prime trial available.

Or you can save $100 and get your stuff in 3 or 4 days instead of two. And Amazon every now and then will run some gimmick and scam to sucker people into joining Prime. The last one I recall was the notorious Prime Day lol.

Applause Only time I came anywhere close to actually buying Prime was when I had tons of credit from trade-ins. But they don't allow you to use it to buy in for Prime.

Yeah its funny (stupid) that you can't use credit to order it. even if you could just buy it with credit at full price and loose prime instant video and such, it would actually be worth it then. Or if they would offer 3 month plans for 33% of the price.

oh well, I will just order from other online retailers and shop more in store, amazon has lost much appeal (IMO) after adding features I don't care about while hiking the price, and the mandatory tax bumps them to the same level with many retailers, where at time before even without tax thru amazon the stores often had marginally better prices.

only reason costco gets away with annual fees is they do have some of the best products, competitive pricing, and unbeatable return policy on everything but a few electronics, even then it's 90 days which is double to triple most B&M retailers (aside from rei, but their prices are silly outside of a seasonal sale).

I don't think amazons bad, just thinking I could do better elsewhere.
