Seems like a good price with the SSD. Do these ever go lower? Anyone own this laptop?

My guess is it's RGB...you set the color to how you want it.

Very nice price, addons are a bonus. Just bought a very similar system around the same price but didn't come with SSD or addons

psst, your ignorance is showing. That kind of keyboard is capable of many colors, and is not limited to a silly rainbow pattern. It can do all white, all blue, etc.

Edit: Guy changed original criticism of keyboard lighting. Good call Smilie

Great price, if I hadn't decided to build a desktop for my next computer I would be all over this. My 5-year old gaming laptop is barely holding on to life these days.

Review for the 960m version.

I was looking at these as an alternative to the $699 Dell 7559 and I think the lowest price I saw was $1100.

This is an appealing 17.3" laptop because it weighs 6.5lbs vs 8.5lbs for most of the other 17.3" gaming laptops.

I also saw many responses from people saying that their laptops had failed and MSI was garbage compared to a Dell or ASUS ROG.

I went with the Dell.

I own the MSI GS40 and a really like it. Very similar, but in a 14" build. The steel series keyboard is nice to type on. The build quality is good overall for MSI.

Just got into laptop specs bc I'm going to buy one after 7 years. This is slick right? I'd get it but I'll just be running word and excel for school. I don't game lol

I own this laptop. Good build, very snappy, performance overall is awesome. Mainly use it as a design workstation when I'm traveling.

Colors on keyboard can actually be configured to correspond with games as a visual addition, like health amount or ammo, or separating keys sections.

The deal with a 512GB m2 is nicer as mine came with 128gb and a 1TB mechanical drive. Mine was at a slight price drop at $1400. This is a steal with the extras and bag considering you can add a 1Tb ssd to it for around $300 and everything done on it would be crazy fast.
