For new users of Samsung Pay only:
Quote :
The $30 Gift Card for 3 Purchases Offer (the "Offer") is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old and own a Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Active, S6 Edge+, Note 5, S7 and/or S7 Edge (each, a "Qualifying Device") and have already registered for Samsung Pay before the commencement of the Offer Period but have not yet made a purchase using Samsung Pay.
^This is false as I am not a new user and have also used Samsung Pay before this promotion, but I qualified and confirmed that I have received the gift card.
This is what the offer details say in More > Events > Personalized Offers > Check for available offers. You will only see the more detailed terms that say "new" users after completing the 3 purchases, but despite that, click Accept terms and the gift card will instantly show up.
Quote :
Offer Details: Make at least three successful purchases before May 10th with Samsung Pay with an eligible credit or debit card to get a free $30 Gift Card! Offer is available to all owners of eligible devices (Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 edge+, S6 Active, Note 5, S7, S7 Edge) between April 15th and May 10th or while supplies last. Eligibility is restricted to one offer per Samsung Account per device. Purchases from Bank of America Debit and private label credit cards are not eligible.

I've never actually used my phone to purchase anything yet. I wonder if I go to a retailer that accept Samsung pay and buy 3 separate packs of gum if that would work. It doesn't state that you need to spend a certain amnt...just do 3 transactions.

How would we know what stores accept Samsung Pay at the register?

Samsung Pay works on just about any terminal that lets you swipe your card. Just hover your phone over the area where you swipe (while Samsung Pay is activated) and the terminal should react.

haven't done it before and I don't even have a "personalized events" section on the Events page. Just got marshmallow today and app is up to date.

Thanks. May hit up Walgreens or Dollar Tree tomorrow to buy 3 packs of gum separately...or maybe I can find something cheaper.

Going grocery shopping tomorrow so I'll see if Harris Teeter accepts it. I just need to remember to try it at the cash registers because I'm so used to just pulling out my credit card. This should be easy money made if a lot of stores accept it.

I was googling and it doesn't look like Walmart accepts Samsung Pay as they have their own Walmart Pay or something like that. But that may be old info I was reading.

It is only for users who have not yet used Samsung pay...

From the Samsung site

The $30 Gift Card for 3 Purchases Offer (the "Offer") is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old and own a Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Active, S6 Edge+, Note 5, S7 and/or S7 Edge (each, a "Qualifying Device") and have already registered for Samsung Pay before the commencement of the Offer Period but have not yet made a purchase using Samsung Pay.

I've registered and received a 50.00 Best Buy gift card and a pair of Samsung earphones but never actually made a purchase so guess I'm good to go. Surely though after this promotion, they will probably have an even better promo, i.e. 50 or 75.00 gift card. Probably should wait it out. Samsung really is wanting this to take off with all these promos. Now the promos are trying to get you to actually use them.

I've used samsung pay over the last year at over 100 different locations including Walmart.

You don't have to ask if they accept it. 99% of the time the casher will say no because they've never seen it.

Any place that accepts a regular credit card via magnetic swipe reader will accept samsung pay. Just activate payment mode in the app and put the back of the phone against the area where the magnetic reader head is.

I've even used it on vending machines and gas pumps.

I used to have a thick wallet with a lot of credit cards, now I only carry my phone with me and in the year have not found a single place that it didn't work at. I've had a lot of cashiers tell me it won't work that they don't support apple pay, but when I put my phone up against the scanner and it works, it amazes them. Smilie

Walmart won't work. At least here in Tigard/Beaverton area in OR doesn't. They somehow blocked samsungpay because they wanted to push their own walmartpay or whatever.

The look on their faces when they say, "sorry that doesn't work here, we haven't updated our system" and then the receipt starts to print is priceless.

Yup, I even got a free meal one time when the mcdonald manager said it wouldn't work. I bet her that if it works then she owes me a meal. It went right through, the receipt printed, and she went ahead and refunded my meal. Smilie
