Mi Band 1: multicolored led's

Mi Band 1s: white only leds, heart rate monitor, but doesn't really average HR, just takes your HR when you tell it too. Supposedly uses HR info for sleep tracking, but I could not tell any difference compared to Mi Band 1.

Mi Band 2: same as 1, but with white only LED's.

I've owned the 1 and the 1S, and found that the 1 was more reliable than the 1S. But quality varies. The sleep tracking works very well and is automatic, but if you get up for a while it doesn't always track the later part of sleep. Step tracking is terrific.

Android app Mi Band Notify and Fitness integrates with the Mi Band official software, and also syncs with Google Fit. Worth paying for.

In general, these devices are just as good as much more expensive fitness trackers, and at these prices, if they die after a year or so, who cares? I often buy several at a time, just to have extra bands. The bands do eventually fail.

Also, even though they claim waterproof, I found that when I showered everyday with the Mi Band, it would die for several days, then it would dry out and start working again, so I wouldn't recommend showering or swimming with these.

There seems to be some confusion with the newer model of the mi band out.
There are currently 3 models:
-MI band (first model)
-MI band 2 (same as first model, only it has a TPSIV band, supposedly better felling rubber)
-MI band 1s AKA Pulse (newer model with heart rate sensor on the bottom)

Some sites get this confused, so don't know which one are they referring to.

The 30 days battery life is actually understated. It easily lasts more than that.
Edit: and the Android app is a joy to use and absolutely polished. The only downside I feel is the material of the band is not very durable. My original one lasted about 5 months before developing cracks and eventually breaking. Thankfully the replacement band was $1.5 and has served me better than the original. It would be a good idea to order a pair of those in advance if anyone is interested. To be frank at $12 this band accomplishes a hell lot stuff. Looks boring though.

It is 1a, the one without heart rate sensor. Personally, I dont use heart rate sensor, when one uses it, it eats up battery, so for me, this version would have been better fit Smilie

Software is terrible, band itself is excellent. Wife got 72 days on one charge paired to an iPhone.

I have had a couple of these as well - the battery life is as stated above. Lasts forever. And can definitely corroborate the durability (or lack thereof) of the bands - if you're buying this, buy at least a few extra bands.

Mi Band 2 has plain white lights while the original has color lights, I heard. Is there any reason to get the 2 over the 1?
