I didn't see this mentioned.

I went to go cancel my account yesterday as my 3 months were expiring and I want to get another free Roku 2 for signing up for another 3 months and I saw the new streaming plan. I believe it just started on Wednesday.

Basically you can stick with the 1 stream with 20+ channels or do the 3 streams with 30+ channels. The tradeoff is the some of the channels are different on each plans which you will see when you look at the channel comparison. i.e. ESPN vs Fox Sports. Disney on one and not the other.

Both plans are still $20.00 per month.

Here is the info. https://www.sling.com/service

If you are on a 3 Month Pre-Paid plan and try to switch to the new Beta plan, at checkout the system will want to charge you the pro-rated amount. I spoke with Sling Customer Service, who have acknowledged that this is a glitch in the system, and you CAN switch over to the Beta plan at no additional cost. The CSR I spoke with said she saw this on her end, but when she hit checkout it didn't actually charge me. Until they fix this online, I suggesting calling and asking a CSR to swtich it for you. 1 (888) 291-5217 - hawleyncsu

I didn't even know Sling was one stream only, that seems lame by comparison to every other streaming service.

Yeah, it was of the big complaints people had. Also that the ability to timeshift varied by channel, and that you can't use your credentials to sign in to network websites like you can with cable.

Looks like the big difference is that they replace ESPN with Fox Regional Sports. I guess the ESPN license is just that expensive...

Wow really? the more I learn about Sling the less I want it. Jeez. Like some of those channel specific apps are much better than watching it normally. Disney family of channels for example, their apps are amazing. HGTV app is quite good too. So you can't even use those if you pay through Sling. I think I'll pass Wink Maybe one day Apple or Google will finally be able to break the TV monopolies and have a proper IPTV in the future.

Has anyone ever gotten sling to work during prime time. For example when Walking Dead is airing? I tried early on and it sucked. Tried a little while ago and it still sucked.

I cancelled my slingtv and hulu for playstation vue and vue did not work for me on both my playstation systems and both my fire sticks. Gonna go back to sling with this plan. Vue will lock you out of your account if you access the service with another IP, sling wont. Although there's no dvr function like Vue most channels will let you view their library of that day or all their shows on demand, and you can start the show over if you're late or forward or rewind it too.

last time i watched Walking Dead it played just fine and started up fine and had no lag. But at first it would black out at least once and catch up and ruin the episode. It's still a new service but it is getting better slowly over time.

I had sling for a 3 month trial and was kind of unimpressed, this 3 device update is way better though. Currently using PlayStation Vue and find it vastly superior in consistency and quality, also can stream on 5 devices. But the devices that can stream Vue is far less and its slightly more expensive.

wow, if that works, then with my t-mobile 30% discount, that is $14 for 3 streams, at about $5 per stream. they may restrict by IP though.

from what i remember when i had it they offer an ondemand type of service as well thats free, but not near the likes of hulu or netflix. just waiting for sling tv to get bought out and killed off or bought out and bundled with netflix or hulu or amazon prime... that would make things interesting
