I found a few flashlights on clearance at my local Lowes. Prices varied from one local store to another, so enter your Zip to check prices.

Utilitech Aluminum 3C 500 Lumen LED http://www.lowes.com/ProductDispl...d=50256751 Now:$7.74 Was: $29.97

Utilitech 1000-Lumen LED 9 x AA Flashlight http://www.lowes.com/ProductDispl...d=50256741-Now: $15.97 Was $39.97

Coast XP20 Dual Color 155-Lumens http://www.lowes.com/ProductDispl...Id=1223265 Now: $12.63 Was: $22.97

Nite Ize Headlamp 142 Lumen LED Flashlight http://www.lowes.com/ProductDispl...d=50252797Now: $8.74 Was: $34.97

Again, all these prices are YMMV. I randomly punched in Zip codes for Ohio, Ariz and Calif and was able to replicate the prices. None of these lights are rechargeable but they all have Alkaline batteries included.

that head lamp looks decent actually from what I can tell, it is on amazon for nearly three times the price with pretty good reviews. Where is it showing 8.74?

It's actually 9 AA not AAA. Not bad considering rechargeable AA eneloops go on sale frequently...

I got one of those head lamps for the $8.74 price but only one Lowes had it this cheap. everything else listed was almost normal price too.

WEIRD, I ordered this and then went back and checked the same store, the price went up to $34 and the back down to $8.74.

Hope this is a good headlight if they can try to sell it for that much............

I got browsing and a lot of stores around me had different lights at different discounts. May be worth trying different stores and checking different lights. Thanks OP

Yeah but do you have a 9 capacity charger? Imagine how much time that'll take to cycle and charge, waste of time and resources because this looks to be an inefficient non-cree led module.

No but I have multiple 4 battery chargers and about 30 eneloop AAs...Wink
I have a couple Fenix (TK40 and LD41) flashlights that also use AAs. Hoping this has similar performance at a fraction of the price...

Bought 5 of 3C 500 lumens for $7.49 each, cheaper than OP. There's only 1 store about 12 miles away of my house has this price, the rest max discount at only 50% off.

Thanks! Repped.

When are retailers going to jump on the 18650 wagon?

I bought the 3C around Christmas. I am very happy with the flashlight. It is heavy duty and bright.

Mag-Lite was always my go to flashlight, but reliability is not what it used to be.
