If you get an error that says
"Sold Out: Vornado - 660 Air Circulator - Black. This item has been removed from your order"
Try again, it will work. It's possibly dying.

A fan's energy efficiency is measured by its CFM of air delivery/Watts of power consumption.

The Vornado 660's energy efficiency at its various speeds is as follows:

Turbo speed: 584 CFM/56 Watts = 10.4 energy efficiency
High speed: 459 CFM/45 Watts = 10.2 energy efficiency
Medium speed: 349 CFM/36 Watts = 9.69 energy efficiency
Low speed: 257 CFM/29 Watts = 8.86 energy efficiency

Contrast this to a 20 inch box fan readily available for $17 [homedepot.com] :

High speed: 2500 CFM/58 Watts = 43.1 energy efficiency

Better still, if it fits your situation, install a ceiling fan.
This Lowes Harbor Breeze LP8321LAZ ceiling fan [lowes.com] which is an EPA Energy Star Most Efficient [energystar.gov] ceiling fan:

The Harbor Breeze ceiling fan at its highest speed [archive.org]:

Airflow: 5,605 CFM
Power: 20 watts
Airflow Efficiency by Speed (CFM/Watt): 280

In other words, the Vornado's airflow is comparably anemic, with extremely poor energy efficiency.

No amount of marketing hype will transform a 9" diameter fan with an inefficient motor into a big air mover...except in some people's minds.
Great fan, bought this last year at this price.

Not a fan of the power switch. If power is cut, the fan stays off and you must press the power button (it's not a switch) and desired speed again.
Summer is coming.

So not a mechanical switch, but electronic controlled and defaults to off upon power outage and restore.

Are these only worth it if you want to circulate air around the room? I really just need something to blow air directly at me to stay cool and not be extremely loud on high

It's probably a little bit much for that but on the low setting they move quite a bit of air and aren't loud at all.

A little surprised that nobody is interested in this! Was FP with ~80 TU back in February when nobody was thinking about summer.

Anyone know how many CFMs this pushes and how it might compare to a standard box fan? I need something to move air out on my 2nd floor.
