I bought this model for my neighbor as a Christmas gift and it is really nice. He really likes it, but had mentioned the temp reading was way off once or twice, but it might be because of where he placed the sensor. I think I paid $40 for it at Lowe's. I am buying one for myself at this price. I already have an Acurite weather alarm clock with an outdoor sensor, and the temp reading always seems right on.

This thing is a battery hog. Every two weeks, you have to change out the batteries.

I have had a ton of weather stations. Most of them were La Crosse, which crapped out during the -1year warranty or shortly after the warranty expired. Also, most of La Crosse ones would either be very difficult to reconnect to their wireless sensors or just stop connecting at all after battery replacement.

My last one is an AccuRite with wind speed sensor, which has been running for over 1.5 years now. I replaced the batteries in the wireless sensor once after 1+ year of service; sensor reconnection was just automatic.

Ordered one as it seems like a good price but I just realized that it gives "local" forecast
based on the outdoor sensor (basically a barometer based one). Not sure if that
would be very useful as opposed to receiving the 5 day forecast via the radio signal.
Plus the forecast is only for 1 day.

Maybe designed and useful for remote areas or where the weather is very localized ?

I always wanted to make one like this out of Raspberry Pi. Could use the layout as reference.

I bought the previous version year ago. Radio sync didn't work. Barometer didn't work. But humidity sensor still works and temperature is accurate.
