I follow it CLOSELY. And Amazon's system is automatically price matching Macy's sale price less coupon. The price drop was actually a couple of weeks back. But, it has been in and out of "availability" for order on When it's not available for order for the lower price at the competitor, Amazon's price goes back up. It's been up and down over the last couple of weeks, accordingly. I am surprised it took this long for it to get posted on SD.

That's also why folks can't find it available for store pick up at Macy's. These were picked from stores several days ago.

I also have 2 of these personally and bought 4 more for gifts and for friends in the last 2 weeks. Only, I bought those 4 at the right time, with the right coupon Wink I paid $17-$19.99 for them.

This saucepan is awesome, really. It deserves every 5 star review you see for it. And most of those reviews are written by folks who paid $44.99+ for it.

This particular piece's MSRP is $89.99, in line with pricing you see for other open stock Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless cookware. However, it is one of the "Promotional" pieces specially priced by nearly all authorized retailers at $44.99. It has been for several years. All "better" cookware lines by most companies have one or two "promotional" or "try me" pieces offered by retailers at prices to lure folks to...well...try them Wink

All-Clad does it too, for example. The 12" Covered Frypan has been $99.99, and the 3 qt. Saute Pan has been $119.99.

Coming up to current $29.99...this is another "Manufacturer's Event". Several Calphalon Tri-Ply pieces have been reduced, to same pricing relative to the particular piece, at most retailers.

Focus is getting ready to shift to the new Calphalon Signature Stainless Steel as well as the Calphalon Classic Stainless. In a nutshell, the Tri-Ply is being sort of shoved to the side. Inventory needs to be brought down (or put on clearance/closeout) at some retailers for when the shift takes place.

Calphalon Signature Stainless is available for order most places, but very few have it on display or in stock in the stores. I have 2 pieces, and it is great Big Grin.

Pretty similar to Macy's price [] AC that expires after today.

Too bad there's no ship-to-store option near me though. Almost got one but $10 shipping kills the Macy's deal.

How useful is a 2 1/2 quart saucepan? It says that it's a shallow saucepan so that probably makes it more useful.

I like my Tri-Ply pans. I've cooked eggs with only a small pad of butter with no sticking.
