As long as the build quality isn't trash and you don't need a touch display, this seems like a better overall value than the current frontpage 15" Dell. This has an SSD, albeit a small one, and is about a half pound lighter for $40 less.

2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port.... what year this this? The last laptop I bought ~4 years ago didn't have Gigabit ethernet... with those outdated USB ports I'd be wary. At least it has an HDMI port.

Anyone with experience on this line of laptops? My previous HP (dv6000 or something) overheated to death after 2 years. I'm in the market for a sub $500 laptop that will eventually replace my currently dying Lenovo Flex 15. Word processing, Twitch, and light gaming.
