I get people wanting to recognize a company for fixing their mistakes, but hardware problems are a huge hassle even if the company fixes it for free. It's incredibly frustrating to troubleshoot problems and then deal with the fix - especially if you're on the early end of the problem curve and the problems and fixes have not be clearly identified and set in place. If that happened twice to me, you can be sure I'd be pretty shy of that particular brand for awhile unless they did more than a free fix. There's too many other competitors that haven't had problems and offer similar quality and pricing.

This is exactly identical to the April 6 Meh.com FP deal 11 days ago, so it might have been better to just revive and promote that one...

Really not trusting Onkyo after my last 2 from them both had hdmi problems. I'm going to hold out and see the price drops with yamaha's 81 series coming out in may.

The HDMI board has been redesigned and Onkyo has been repairing the failed ones for free or offering a coupon towards an upgrade. I shipped mine to get fixed and the turnaround was about one week (I am on the East Coast). Granted, it took them a long time to even acknowledge there was a problem but at least eventually they are providing a satisfactory solution. At least I would not be concerned about the new ones having HDMI problems.

Yup, consolidating all the information in one thread would be more helpful. Not bad option for people on a budget and want Atmos.

I have the 535. The audio doesn't come on sometimes when switching between inputs or is delayed for awhile. The audio sounds muffled or messed up. Sometimes it makes a super loud screeching sound. Is this the HDMI issue?

With mine (both). The HDMI signal eventually just died. No input possible. Thankfully, it was repaired through warranty. The only model i have now is the venerable 608, so I'm in the market for a new one with new features but just hesitant on the brand as a result. The price definitely is good here but the hassle of possibly going to the company and getting the fix (that should have been done prior to rolling them out) is something I'm real hesitant on doing again.

Didn't mean to TD the deal as like the others said they do do the repair long as you are in warranty years and sometimes over if you argue and complain (like I had to).

The remote app for it does look interesting although I've heard yamaha's is perfect and you essentially do not need the remote at all just the android app.
