Because month-to-month costs more, you are NOT meant to subscribe to it for the full 12 months.
Instead, get this WHEN YOU NEED IT one month at a time, THEN STOP, so you SAVE MONEY, potentially lots of it!

http://www.bing.com/search?q=Amaz...ng+Netflix (WSJ link):

An Amazon spokeswoman said the new monthly option could be turned off or on as customers wished, a possible benefit for shoppers during the busy holiday season.

Yes, you can still "Save 25% with prepayment discount" at the same old $99/year.
($10.99 * 12 * .75 = $98.91)

But:
Some people only need it over the holidays.
You come out ahead if you only need it fewer than 9 months in a year.
Some people just want to save $1/month versus Netflix, maybe to binge-watch something.

I didn't know this existed! I'm moving at the end of the month and could use this for items I will need at the new place, but I won't want prime afterwards for some time.

Dont think this will last with amazon. If people pay for one month and order a crapton of items and then cut it off for the remainder of the year, I think amazon loses a lot of money this way... But definitely a plus for consumers.

Does Amazon Prime still come with Prime video? Or is Prime video now a separate thing?

This was always an option for me when canceling my prime for a refund. At least for the last 2 years. Others said you could ask for monthly via chat and they would do that
