Sorry to steal the DJ3's thunder, but since geekbuying was sold out, I was poking around for something in stock. Thinking I could sell my Venue * for more and have money leftover.

And Banggood [banggood.com] seems to have it in stock for $99.99. Coupon code C89820 takes off $9 bringing it down to $90.99 shipped. Actually $4 cheaper than geekbuying.

Choose free Priority Direct Mail for 6-9 day delivery.

Intel gave these processors to Asian manufacturers to capture marketshare vs. android and IOS. It was pretty upsetting to see that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 was running an x5-Z8300. The original Mi Pad features a Tegra K1 processor. The x5-Z8300 SOCs do a great job with Windows productivity software, browsers, and 4K video but it's a matter of optimization, not raw power. They're superior to the earlier Atom series in nearly every way--in fact they're in many Surface 3 and 4--but there nowhere near as good as the high end android SOCs or even Intel's own under-appreciated Core M(Which was made for exactly this type of device and this type of device only... functions amazing when properly applied).

I wouldn't buy this one. Not because it's bad but because they are super-cheap and spending $20 on Chinese electronics is like spending $100 on US electronics only, and $150 at a big box store like Best Buy.

So you spend $50 more, scrounge around a bit, jump on one of the many legitimate flash sales at urlhasbeenblocked, geekbuying, everbuying, or banggood and get youself either a better processor or something with cellular capability or both.

It's been mentioned but I'll plug it again... go to www.techtablets.com and read the reviews to figure out what device is best for you. Generally speaking, if you order from one of the 4 retailers I mentioned you get a device that is shennangins-free.... can't say the same for Ali Express.

Also... everyone expected the Mi Pad 2 to be a Tegra X1 device, or at least Core M. It was not. This was the reason for the disappointment and not any flaw in the x5-z8300 itself.

Yeah saw that., eventually. I f-ed that one up. Hazards of quickly skimming SD posts, especially when they're actually good deals.

Is this better than the Unbranded 10" ones that could be had for about $60 many times last year from Cowboom?

Read more about these Chinese tablets here: http://techtablets.com

Also here: https://www.youtube.com/user/hendrickson

There are many other 8" tablets in the $100 range which might be considered better options. Also from what I've read, Banggood tends to be more reliable than Gear Best

Yes, the processor is the newest generation i believe (faster too), its better in almost every way (unless if you think 8 inches is a negative), also the dual boot android/windows comes in handy.

Damn you SD. Another Wintab is the LAST thing I need, but I'm in for 1 anyway.

I don't have time to read and analyze it right now (at work), but which one would you say is the better or best option of the bunch? Thanks!

OK, thanks! I had an Unbranded and it was decent but sold it and now miss it a little...mostly the HDMI port.

In for 1. Thanks op. I got the 10" version, albeit with a slower processor, for my daughter for Christmas and I was impressed with the quality and speed of it. Be warned though, you have to jump through a few hoops to get everything in English. No big deal, just navigating Chinese menus to change the defaults, there's a youtube video to show you how.
