But how is it otherwise at this price point?

Totally depends on whether or not you're actually going to use the bike on trails. If you are, then this is a terrible option. You're better off renting a bike. If not, then you're probably okay.

Add 20 bucks to buy replacement pedals, then you will see this will be about the same price point as other bikes with full suspension shake headshake headshake head

It's a terrible option regardless. Just getting it to stay in gear is a hassle. I got this when it was like $30 at Kmart. Worse bike I've ever got. I only ride it to park at the trainstation. I'm disappointed everytime I get back and someone hasn't stolen it yet.

The chain lock that you use to secure the bike is probably more expensive than the bike itself

You probably mean worst.

Funny thing is, I used by Trek starter bike to go to the grocery store the other day and was deathly worried that someone was going to steal the tires (the frame was locked). At that point, I wished I had a cheaper bike that's not worth stealing.

Great for the occasional ride around the block with the kids. By occasional I mean once or twice. Take this off pavement and you will suffer injury.

I got this for $40 from Kmart. It's okay for that price, but I would be pissed if it was $25 more. And I do deeply regret not spending $150 or so for something far more decent.

Would it be worth buying just to replace my haggard rims? Is this a freewheel that accepts threaded cassettes?

How does this compare to a Yeti SB6c?

for the price it's a decent once in a while riding bike ( once or twice a month) I purchased one on the Sprint galaxy grand prepaid phones $104 for my mother to replace a failing boost phone she had and I received $104 back in point . then turned around the next day and used $67 of that on one of these bikes. still a decent win if you manage to score one in this manner.
