Freedom Pop LG Optimus F3 Died

kaykatz 569 April 19, 2016 at 12:46 PM
My FreedomPop LG Optimus F3 died. Has no identifying info when searching for IMEI, etc. Everything's gone. Can the number still be ported?

Can I buy a tablet like the LG G Pad 7" 8GB Tablet and have the phone # ported to it?

Thanks!

Porting = transferring your phone number to a different carrier.
Switching phones / esn swap = just switching phones without changing carrier.

Are you intending to transfer this number to another freedom pop device?

You can probably either switch phones or port out of freedom pop without knowing the imei of the current phone. I don't use FP so i'm not sure what the process is exactly. Also not sure how fp treats phone plans on tablets.

To jump in and add to this, Assuming you have the LTE version of this tablet and that FP treats it like a phone (Which they probably don't) you may not be able to make and accept calls on the tablet because it might not have a dialer etc. The tablet is also 2 years old and has a very minimal amount of storage. It might work as a short term thing but you probably want to look at a different device long term or instead.

I meant switch, thanks for the correction.

"8GB of internal memory, expandable up to 128GB via microSD. Paired with the FreedomPop free messaging app, you can make calls and send texts over Wi-Fi or over our blazing fast 4G LTE network to any us number or any FreedomPop app user in the world".

1GB free data per month is more than enough for my needs and it's $60. Unable to afford anything more at this time.

Tablet arrives Friday, I will try switching phone numbers/keeping my old number. Meanwhile, I'll read the forums.

I appreciate everybody's comments and suggestions.

What up with people want
LG G Pad 7"? What is so great about it?
The only one I can think of was OP got it at a great price or is going for it because of the MicroSD. Most likely you can't move apps to the SD as thats been unavailable on most android devices for several versions. A 2 year old budget tablet running older versions of Android. Even when it was new it was not amazing. Personally I would rather have my 2013 nexus 7.
