Can someone please point me to where I can find warranty info and price protection info for items purchased on eBay? Been looking for this set for a while but am afraid to spend so much without knowing these things on eBay purchases.

This is tempting. 2016 models are not much better in terms of picture quality and certainly not better price-wise. $4.5k is still a stupid amount of money to spend on a TV but considering this thing was $10k a year ago, and considering the alternatives in the 75"+ arena, this is worthy of consideration. The 2016 models are definitely styled better with the thinner bezel, but I refuse to pay retail for anything so it's either wait seemingly forever until black Friday or get a bargain on a 2015 model like this one.

3D is dead. How many of Samsung's 2016 4k tvs have 3D? I count zero. I have 3D now and absolutely never use it, so I'd rather not pay for a feature I won't use and will be glad to see it go away. I would guess the curved screen will be next to die, but Samsung is still trying to push that one. In fact I'm not seeing any 2016 TV > 75" that isn't curved in the Samsung lineup and the cheapest is $8k. So, that's actually making this TV even more attractive.

New movies still coming out in 3D & they still sell 3D Blu-rays. I know 3D Blu-rays cost alot more than Blu-rays but sometimes there's deals like go-hastings. Maybe 3d is dying, o well.

I think 3D in VR is much more compelling. On a TV it just isn't that great. I never understood the appeal and now Samsung appears to be pulling the plug on it.

The 3D most folks have are Active so no wonder it's not popular. Passive technology has its limitation but it doesn't cause nausea and unless you are too close, the quality is very good. With 4K TVs with passive 3D, even the large size is fine. After 2 years with an LG TV, I cannot go back to a TV without 3D Frown

You never watch anything on TV where the characters are watching TV and you enjoy that they're doing that. They're usually doing "stuff." Why not go do stuff yourself? One life and you devote it to watching fictional characters live out fictional lives?

LOL. Who said anything about devoting their lives to watching TV? I for one can't sit still for much over a half hour, but I'd still like a nice TV for the times I do spend in front of it. Nonetheless, I can't bring myself to squander this much.

Too bad my family loves 3D so I'm stuck buying 3Dtvs which are often an extra $1k. There are plenty of 3D models on the market, just do a search. Funny thing is 3D isn't listed in the description sometimes, have to read the specs list.
