I was bargain hunting at a local Walmart this afternoon (well avoiding going home to the wife if truth be known) and came across a price reduction for this TV.
It has been lowered from an in store price of $698 down to just $523.
The link below from Walmart.com has the current price listed as $849 which is OTT IMO!

For the 'Brickseekers' amongst us use item # 46429948 to conduct a search.
I have found the price as low as $515 depending on what zip code you input.

For a truly vivid entertainment experience, details matter, whether you're watching a high-speed car chase, a high-stakes Superbowl game, or a high-drama weepie. That's why the LG 55" Class 4K Ultra HD offers four times the picture resolution of Full HD 1080p for a richer, more vibrant way to view your favorite movies, TV shows and sporting events. One of the secrets behind the outstanding UHD performance of this model is the specially designed display panel. IPS 4K delivers true colors that remain more consistent at wide viewing angles. With the LG 55" Class 4K Ultra HD, everything you watch will be enhanced to near 4K quality, even content that has not been optimized for 4K. Connects to Wi-Fi so you can enjoy your favorite online programming, or surf the internet or download apps quickly and easily. Use Smart Share to steam music, movies and photos from compatible smartphones and tablets for a fun and social viewing experience.

Note: You must have a source of HD programming in order to take full advantage of the LG 55" Smart HDTV. Contact your local cable or satellite TV provider for details on how to upgrade.

Does anyone know if this is this true 120hz or is it upconverted from 60hz? Doesn't seem like a terrible idea on the surface, I don't love that it doesn't have 4x HDMI ports though. Thanks for the info, OP. I'll see if there are any good deals locally.

Update: I have a few local stores showing the $523 price and another that shows the $515 price.

NOT 120Hz "native". Bad black levels due to it being an IPS panel but IPS has a wide viewing angle unlike VA panels.

I got this tv from frys a few weeks ago. Its a very pretty tv. However fallout 4 looks amazing but lags slightly. With some tweaks im sure that would improve. For 600 im happy I bought it.

This set was a slickdeal about a month or so ago for $599 on Adorama via eBay. In that thread, people mentioned even lower prices at some Walmarts. Do note that Walmarts can have independent pricing and it's rare for a manager to PM to a different store's price.

I did buy this set and as a midrange (but cheap) videophile I can deal with it. Lots of complaints from others that it's actually a RGBW pixel scheme so the white pixels wash out deep blacks. I did notice this but for the price, I can deal. It's not 120hz native but I hate the soap opera effect so whatever. Has LG's App Store including free apps for the usuals (Netflix, Amazon, etc) and I can't complain about the interface. Apparently the input lag also makes it less than ideal for competitive gaming, but for single player or local play I haven't had an issue.

I got this TV when it was discounted to 500 at walmart in 12/15. Best TV I ever got for 500. I do not care about Blah Blah specifications. It is one great 4k TV for this price. This is coming from a guy who owns Samsung 7000 series plasma and 7500 series LED LCD TV. It is acutal 120hz native. I know it is not ture 4k due to rgbw, but 4k content looks really good.
