Kim Jong Un approves. I always see him at the border with the north korean fake versions of these.
Good thing it comes with a Tripod Adapter...they are impossible to hold steady with "one" hand while spying on your neighbors. ;-)

I got these for my friend a few years back. Everything always looked out of focus and doubled. They are also impossible to use without a tripod or mount of some sort.

These are a great set of binoculars. I have a very expensive Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain scope, which is a pain in the butt to lug around. These are great, my wife thought they were amazing for watching the recent total lunar eclipse. Plan to teach my kids the constellations, etc. with these when they're older.

I cant imagine using binocs to look at a tiny point of light a 100 million miles away without a tripod.... Things might appear 'out of focus' or 'doubled'

Can it be realistically used as a spotting scope for a mid-range shooting? (100-300 yds)
I've been looking at something like this one [amazon.com], which is declared to have a variable magnification power or "20-60x60". Will this one be more or less useful for the purpose?
