Is there any way to turn the screen on without flipping the phone over and using the fingerprint sensor??? Do you even have to enable the fingerprint sensor?

Serious. I always have my phone mounted to an air vent in my truck. Just want to make sure I don't have to grab it and hit the fingerprint sensor every time I want the screen on.

You can use the Power button. Also it have feature to double tap the screen to turn on, as well as draw gestures to open other apps directly when the screen is off.

One thing to note is out of the box this phone set the Power Saving mode to save power by default and will run slow, you have to go in and set it to Normal mode.

Other thing is any apps you download will by default not allowed to run in the background, ie. their notifications will be disable. So you have to go in and manually turn them on.

I think it's a good phone for the price and the camera is very adequate. One thing I would do is set the screen resolution to run as 720p for improved performance.

Thanks. I've been using a Huawei P8 Lite for the last 6 months so I'm pretty familiar with EMUI. Good to see Huawei included the double tap feature!!!! This should be standard on every cellphone. The Lumia 640 I just test drove had both nock-on and nock-off which I really enjoyed. Gonna wait for the next price drop and scoop me up an Honor.

I would pass on this phone if you're going to be running more than 2 app that will need to run in the background. Bought one for my wife and it started crawling after a week, every app open took 3-4 sec delay. I tried all the tweaks that maxharryjohnson mentioned and nothing helped.

Get the Moto G, it's cheaper and it'll perform better (no finger print scanner though) or get the Nexus 5x if you can afford to spend another $100. Just my 2 cents.

I have both Nexus 5x and honor 5x and apart from the build and screen size, dual sim, expandable storage where honor is better, in almost everything else Nexus 5X is better. But for the price a great phone.
Also marshmallow testing is in beta apparently.

On my nexus 6p I set it to recognize my voice only so when I say OK Google, it will automatically turn on the screen and unlock the phone.

Why? There are gesture features that screen turns on on double click on turned off screen. Of course then you have to input password

Use smart lock so your truck is a trusted connection and doesn't need to be unlocked.
