I am a fan of this reveiver. I purchased via Woot and very much like it. the Atmos capabilites are very good for this top of the line for their Non-Elite's - which is far superior to lower end Elite receivers. only negative is the lack of DTS-X support, but for $300 bucks, it's a great unit. The remote is a bit busy, but I used Logitech harmony 700

It's a Frys Electronics coupon, so you should receive it in your email every day if you are enrolled in their mail blasts. If you are not, you can ask here for one or just call up Frys and ask their support staff to put you on the email list and give you a day - of coupon code.

just bought this same exact receiver from electronic expo for $269 open box. Absolutely great value, especially if you need dual zones!

Lots of nice features for $300. It's $400 on Amazon so i'm not sure how great this sale price really is overall, but seems like a solid deal nonetheless.

No only a 5.2.2. It's a vsx90

The model for sale here is the VSX-1130-K. (Not the Elite VSX-90.) The differences between this model and the Elite VSX-90 are few and will not matter to the vast majority of those looking for bargains on feature rich mid-range receivers IMHO so this deal looks like a very very good one. I purchased the Elite VSX-90 model last month for $399 from BB and I absolutely love it. I cannot complain but I would take this deal over the one I got in a heartbeat given all of the information I have come across so far.

This article [bigpicturebigsound.com] explains that "It's important to mention that the Elite receivers are specifically designed for the custom installation market. That also means that each one is compatible with popular custom control companies, such as Crestron and Control4. They also include two-way RS-232C-over-IP control and the option to receive metadata from networked and iOS devices." If those features are important to you then wait for another sale on the Elite VSX-90. If not, then I would advise jumping on the VSX-1130-K.

I have a Fry's code available if anyone needs it...I will dig it up and post it in a few.

Oh and both receivers offer only 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos capabilities so if Atmos is important to you then you should continue your search and pass on this deal. On paper, an Atmos 5.1.2 system doesn't look much different from a 5.2.2 system but do not fall into this trap. There is no comparison. 5.1.2 should not even be allowed to call itself Atmos IMHO.

If you mean the VSX elite series receivers, then yes this is comparable but i wouldn't say far superior to the lower end elites. I would take a lower end SC series over this any day.

Yes this is far superior to the lower end elite line. The "elite" VSX - 44 was a piece of junk. People were spending $500 for it and when it finally went on clearance it was going for less than $200.
