It is generally agreed that taking narcotics as a human is detrimental. Why do so many think it prudent to drug up their cats?

Catnip is an herb in the same family as mint.. Non toxic to cats.. Give them a break, they put up being stuck in the house all day while you are at work..

Buy some seed or a live plant and put it somewhere in your yard and you'll have more of this stuff than you know what to do with. Grows real easy. I started with one little plant some years ago and now I could be a major dealer to stoner cats all up and down the mid-Atlantic.

I serve catnip on a plate. Some cats eat it as-is. Others will roll themselves on it. Fascinating to watch.

Not sure if you're serious, but...

Cats ingest a lot of fur while grooming. Wild cats will seek out and ingest plant material to aid in fur regurgitation and digestion. Indoor cats with good owners get cat nip or cat grass.

It is not a narcotic.

Grab a big pinch and grind it between your fingers as you put it on a paper plate. Some cats just eat it (like my three cats). Some cats just roll in it. Some cats are not effected by it at all.

And last, you can get high-quality organic catnip from just about any health food store. It usually costs around $2 an ounce. My cats prefer it over any other type of nip besides fresh-grown.
