Although you have been aware for several months that your website is redirecting users to download malicious software it continues. I have been redirected to download a virus boxed as "flash player" several times. I have complained. It continues. Get your shit together. Please.

Hi 28,

Thanks for the note about this issue. This is an industry-wide problem that we take very seriously and we take steps to eliminate all kinds of bad ads. Some bad ads do manage to sneak through - this is a rare event which is usually resolved promptly.

Advertising revenue is critical for independent websites to survive and operate. We have to strike a balance between ads and the user experience, and I think we do that better than most sites out there by blocking all types of intrusive ads - we don't allow video ads, pop-ups, or overlays.

We're dedicated to keeping Slickdeals free from any bad ads.

I bet it feels shitty when you have 3 separate threads at the same time complaining of redirects/malware

How is it a rare occurrence when users post almost on the daily basis they get redirected?
How do you work on fixing it when I'm getting the EXACT redirect malware days after OP mentioned it?
How come other not as popular sites ex FW that has less traffic, less referral revenue can offer a safer browsing experience than SD?

I got fake flash redirect a couple days ago too...I just didn't have time to report it. I knew what was going wrong the second it occurred. But someone less familiar/educated on computers would be at a real risk. We have to get this cleaned up ASAP. It would be very easy to click the wrong button and accidentally download it even for a more experienced user. Ransomware is on the rise....

Today I got this one on very first page
Smartscreen came up with warning that
phuziazsns.org [phuziazsns.org] was not safe. I had my computer checked and did not find anything. It is happening on both of my computers now and only does it on slick deals. So please find out what this is.
Yesterday I got the flashplayer page trying to get me to download it.

I am getting the FlashPlayer phish page, as well as the Microsoft Smart Screen virus redirect warning from Slickdeals The Podium page.

If you don't stop the rogue ads, everyone will install ad blockers and you'll end up LOSING MONEY.

It may technically may an "industry-wide problem" but I can tell you that Slickdeals is the ONLY website I personally visit that tries to serve me malware. The only other types of sites (which I try to stay away from and may only visit on accident these days) that do this are obviously sketchy ones (usually dealing with downloading/viewing unauthorized materials of one type or another). It's not rare on Slickdeals either - in the other tread I've documented numerous occasions where this has happened to me. And it's not like I spend all day on slickdeals either (my stats show avg time spent is 4 min 4 sec) - just check the boards for some hot deals and then move on.

is anyone even looking into this...that is the sound of customers leaving your site.

This last 6 weeks I've gotten redirects almost daily to fake flash sites, I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. But it really upsets me people are likely getting their computers f-ed up. I'm a pretty advanced user and don't fall for it. But if even .1% get infected thats a huge huge problem. It sickens me that machines are getting infected this way. As someone who does IT work professionally I spend a lot of time removing viruses/malware. Figuring out the latest tricks to hide it. I hate malware. It seems with so many problems in the past 6 weeks, SD isn't doing enough to stop it.

Perhaps SD needs its own scripts to stop redirection...in addition to blocking certain sites. Blocking sites doesn't appear to be working very well, given the dozens of new sites users like myself have posted about.

More malware this morning, this version opens a small window and tries to force you to add a firefox addon...everytime you click in the same window it opens up a new window asking you to install it. Found this happening around 10:05AM CST....

Alert says its from 'privacy-keep.com'...repeated problems with this stuff.

I'm getting the same thing. It's very annoying. Panicked at first thinking I had spyware on my computer, but turned out it only happens on the SD site.

I'm running a deep scan now...problem is the deep scan takes about 80 mins to run with the amount of files on my computer. Mad

Still getting repeated problems with the same thing happening...locks up my active window.
