These have been dropping in prices lately and for $300 I think it's still a good deal.

Newegg.com [newegg.com] has the thrustmaster hotas warthog for $299.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

this is the reason Thrustmaster lowered the price on the joystick

Isn't this the average MSRP? I've never seen them really more or less than $300...
Also, why this over an X-52? Aside from authentic feel, I mean? The x-55 RHino is garbage but I haven't played with this one.

I think this is on the lower end price wise for both the throttle and stick. I see the stick alone for $299 on many sites. I've used this hotas for quite awhile and really like it. I've never used the x52 so I can't compare it, however.

The price matches a previous deal posted here

Not at all... Great price.

Authentic feel, high quality materials, great accuracy. I'm having trouble figuring out why you even posted here, except to be negative.

This is a great price for anyone looking to make the jump.

This is all metal, an actual reproduction of a real setup and much sturdier than the Rhino/x52. The rhino/x52 are mostly plastic. This also uses HALL sensors which are more accurate than what the Saitek. These have a great reputation for build quality, something the Saitek have the exact opposite reputation for. I sold my x52 pro for this and wouldn't go back. It is also substantially larger and heavier, the throttle probably weighs 10lbs.

You could see this as a negative or positive but it doesn't have a twist, which will make for better accuracy but then you either have to use pedals or put use some of the hat switches for it.

Outside is metal but the insides are not. There have been plenty of complaints about the longevity of these sticks. They are leaps and bounds better than the saitek sticks, but if you want to do space sims I would avoid this set. It requires a decent amount of force to move. In elite dangerous you are constantly moving the stick and this will tire you out compared to other joysticks.

I personally would just get a CH setup. That's what I did. It's not as ugly in person as pictures however it is not nearly as sexy as the other offerings. But unless you shoot it or driver over it or use it in some other strange fashion, it won't break. It also has zero resistance which makes flying in ED much less of a chore.

Anyhow do your own research. While the warthog is a good stick if you want something that feels realistic, I wouldn't suggest it unless you are planning on bolting it down to a sim rig or have tried it in person and are comfortable with the resistance. I just have VESA mounts on my deskchair with my CH stick and throttle and it works great. These are HEAVY and will require to be on a solid surface.

Regardless of my opinion though $299 is a good deal for this compared to the regular 399 price.

No, not being negative, just making an observation and asking a legitimate question.
I've actually never seen these move from the $300 price point. That being said, I agree with the other comments about these being terrible on the inside, not the "quality materials" you're spinning.

Why wouldn't you just pre-order the x-56 for $250 instead? Just the "authentic feel" won't save you 4 months into use when it breaks and stops registering inputs.

If you're into StarCitizen or really any of the space sims, a double-stick system like two t16000s and a pedal system is the best way to go and MUCH cheaper. But, if all you're going to be doing is simulating an A-10 for about 3 months and don't mind paying to do so, go for it!
