Remix Mini is $40 off via Jide.com. Final price is 49.99 as against 69.99 on Amazon.
Reveiws can be found here [amazon.com].

Link : Jide.com [jide.com]

Configuration:
1.2GHz quad-core with 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, Up to 128GB expandable storage
Small, portable with stylish design and fully configured with remix os 2.0 (based on android 5.1)

Mentions it can take 5-20 days for shipping, but provided they have a US warehouse, I expect it to ship faster than that. I am a Kickstarter backer and received my piece within 4 days of the item being released.

Here's [youtube.com] a little youtube video explaining what the Remix can do

As an HTPC, works well with this air mouse [amazon.com].

And before someone asks, it does have HDMI .

Also, it supports H.265 encoding and 4K videos.
You can also install Kodi,plex, Amazon video(or any other Android app on it).

I use it as my daily driver and prefer it over Amazon fire stick and Roku.

But if I understand correctly Remix OS requires a keyboard for operation which is very inconvenient as a true media center/player/streamer compared with Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, Chromecast, etc.

It has an onscreen keyboard as well if that's what you like.
However I have been using the air mouse [amazon.com] with no issues.

It also supports USB game pads if that;s your thing.

never heard of Jide. Is this a reliable seller?

I really want one of these to use mainly for KODI, I can't find any evidence that it supports CEC though. I already have 2 Nexus Players and those have CEC. I am personally currently using a Mad Catz MOJO which does not have CEC, which I would like to replace with something else that does in fact support CEC.

Any input on CEC support on this device is appreciated!

I am running Remix OS for PC and if this runs anything similar to it, it should be a great machine for media consumption.

@edxmon
I can confirm that there is no CEC support.

This was launched more as a standalone PC than an HTPC. However most users have found that this works well as an HTPC.

@produke
Jide is a company which has launched the RemixOS which is gaining more and more traction. RemixOS is based on Android OS but has a Windows like GUI with support for shortcuts like Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C. It also has support for multiple windows and update are rolled out every now and then.

They have also recently launched RemixOS for PC which has a lot of promise.

Totally legit. Had two huge Kickstarter campaigns, and are doing well with their new OS.

Thank you for the reply sir!

Man, I really want one but without CEC support I could just install the Remix OS rom for the MOJO... I think I really need to compare the specs and see which one is more powerful. Btw, I really like the air mouse you linked, I might buy one myself.

EDIT: is the site getting blasted? I can't go into their page

Can anyone tell me if this play flash sites pretty good. I have 2 tablets that are hooked up via a chromecast and the flash stream does not work when I try to stream them. I like to look at my local live news stations (cord-cutter) but the apps fail to play unless I stream from my laptop.

I got to the payment part of checkout, and that's as far as I'm going.
Curious to play with one of these, but the way the website is built, and if you look a dev tools in your browser at what's going on in the background.... no thanks. Yes it's https, but I have no idea where my info is going and if CC remains plain text, tokenized... this is a prime site to have paypal. Without... nope.

Oh, and checkout experience where I need to confirm my email address before checking out is almost asking me not to finish the transaction Frown

Thanks anyway OP! And for the link to the mouse, looks pretty well done!
