Walmart, Target, and Amazon all carry the Dorel Living Faux Marble Lift Top Coffee Table which has stellar reviews across all sites (respectively 4.5 with 62 reviews, 5.0 for 6, and 4.5 for 285 reviews). The lift-top mechanism seems nice and tight in a good way, and plenty sturdy for the kind of use I'll throw at it.

I just received mine yesterday and I am very impressed. It really is a very nice table and I don't think the demo images quite do the marble justice for the espresso!

I personally was able to chat with Target and get them to pricematch walmart, so I saved an extra 5% more by using my RedCard, but that might be a YMMV thing. (Also, actually, the rep neglected to adjust the sales tax so I had to chat with them again, and they threw me a $10 egiftcard for my trouble!)
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I actually bought this near regular price.. the assembly is extremely easy and the table is sturdy. I think it looks more expensive than it is, and the granite stays clean.

I have the black version of this. Paid retail over 2yrs ago and still love it! It's a very sturdy build and have zero complaints with it. Looks more expensive than what you'll actually pay. Worth the money.

can you possibly measure it when the granite part is pulled up? like how far from the floor does it go? I'm in a wheelchair and was wondering if I'd fit under this. thanks!

Awesome, good to know! I very much agree it looks like something 2-3 times the price you'd find at Ikea. I also saw the store-brand table that "Huge" mentioned in the post above this, but the unquestionable sexiness of this table is absolutely worth the extra bucks, in my opinion. Your experience makes me even more pleased, thanks!

I'll verify when I go home, but there's an amazon "question" about this, that puts it in the 26.5"-28.5" range: (http://www.amazon.com/forum/-/Tx1...B00TO4IEYM) as well as a very detailed review that says 28.5" (http://www.amazon.com/review/R3LT...=furniture) although that's probably the height to the top of the surface. UPDATE: 27.5" clearance below the top surface (slightly more on hard floor) and 12.5" forward extension past the legs, when fully extended.

I too would like to know if it can be used for this. IIRC in the last thread when this went FP was that it became unbalanced and would tip over with any weight on the table portion when open. Hopefully someone can confirm.

Is this sturdy enough to function as a computer desk when flipped up? IE can it hold 2 monitors while in the open position for a couple hours a day? I use a desktop computer when sitting at my couch.
I saw a customer photo on amazon of someone who put a 25lb weight inside to counterbalance theirs, but I don't think that's necessary unless you plan to have a good deal more weight on it than we have in the photo I'm attaching below. Couple big bowls of spaghetti, half gallon of milk, liter o' cola, and a 2014 macbook pro did just fine throughout a hybrid dinner+homework session. I personally wouldn't hesitate to put a pair of lcd displays on here, JustHelpin.

So I eat on the couch and use a serving tray on my ottoman right now. does this table top come up to me on the couch so I can eat conveniently?
