Thread Details

Saw this post over on Reddit, went to my local Target, and found one in stock at the $75 price.

Normal price $150 for the official band.

Use BrickSeek inventory checker [brickseek.com] if you want, but mine listed "0" for the store but I found one anyways when I went to check the section that holds the Apple products (inside the lower cabinet).

You can easily search yourself since no one said they were genuine Apple ones.

Regardless....who knows about these "clearanced" ones anyway...since if they are returns....some could easily be a switcheroo with a genuine looking one.

The build quality is night and day better on Apple's. My wife has Apple's one, and I have maybe 5 or 6 third-party cheaper ones, and there's really no comparison.

Yes, there are ways to tell authentic bands from the copy-cats/aftermarket ones...but one has to be looking for them.

Many of the aftermarket brands can look (at a quick glance) identical to the real ones.

In terms of the Milanese loop, nobody has got the magnet right like Apple does. Every counterfeit on Amazon is junk compared to this, same goes for the leather loop that requires a magnet lock. That being said, any other band - you'd be perfectly fine on Amazon with a lookalike.

Can anyone who has the genuine Apple Milanese loop comment on whether it nicks the hair on your arm? I had a knockoff from Amazon that did that, and I was wondering if the legit version has the same issue or not.

Always wondered what it means when Brickseek shows a store has an item in stock but 0 "Saleable Qty". I mean I assume that means that whatever inventory of the item that they have is not for sale, but why?

I have the authentic one with the Stainless steel body since launch (1 year). It has never picked hair off my arm and I have lots. It actually picks the finer hair off my beard though!
