where be the oil experts

my car was originally 5w-30 but then backspec'ed to 5w-20

so which is better to use in really hot weather?

car is very very high miles

not sure which to order

30 is thicker at high temps than 20 right?
so that would protect the engine more at the cost of a tiny amount of mpg which I can live with

thicker of the two. (5w-30)

is your high mileage car leaking? or loosing oiil pressure on hot ass days?

no oil pressure loss but a super slow leak, like maybe a half-quart per year because I've been told a really hard to access/replace gasket is leaking only when the car is on and being driven at speed (it's never ever leaked in the parking lot)

that's normal. just use 5w-30 it will leak slower. it's designed to be used in hotter climates. i live in nyc/nj and my friend had a leaky gasket on his car (225k miles) and just a little thicker oil worked.

they have things like lucas oil stabilizer if the 5w-30 does not work or the leak gets worse..

I've seen people joke that sometimes putting really good, thin oil in an old car can make it leak more because the sludge is what is holding the oil in LMAO

on my last 5 quart from all the free G Oil synthetic deals a few years ago - people are not 100% sure it is 100% synthetic or proper weight but I change it at 5K anyway since I use a non-synthetic PureOne filter

Just fyi it appears you can only do 1 rebate. I did it with two jugs and was so pleased with how fast it came that I ordered 2 more. I got the rebate check before my s&s order shipped.

Tried buying two more and my rebate doesn't seem to be getting processed.

I was worried about the same thing, but there's no such prohibitive language in the terms and conditions.

If i order subscribe and save and it doesn't get here until the 11th of next month would that be a problem for the rebate?

that happened to me with another rebate. and if you call them and get them to understand that you are still under the limit they should write you a second check.
