Been looking for a good deal on the 12v (drill) set for years.

I was reading this and wondering about the screwdriver. Have been through over 100 cordless tools, including 6 of this 12v line (awesome btw) and don't think I've ever had a "screwdriver." What does it do? I have always used drill or impact as a screwdriver and just lowered the clutch setting.

Also it looks like both these kits offer 1.1Ah batteries. Got most of my stuff a couple years ago and thought for sure they were 2Ah, am I wrong or did they lower it?

Regardless, awesome deal $115 for a kit that is around $150 to $200 elsewhere. Repped

The screwdriver is more or less just a "drill" without a traditional chuck, substituting a 1/4" hex quick change fitting for drive bits (or drill bits with a 1/4" hex shank). It won't be as quick or powerful as the impact driver, but it has a clutch so it will be much more precise in driving screws to the exact depth you need without stripping the wood.

Right I got that, I only use my chuck drills for drill bits (when 1/4 set won't work).

I think I actually have a couple of these, I see the clutch on it, didn't notice it at first on the app.

Thanks

My day job involves a lot of wall fishing, running cables, and installing wallplates and this screwdriver is amazing for that. I have a ryobi 1/4 drill bit set and use the 3/4 inch hole bore quite frequently. We use a lot of 1.5 inch screw clips into studs to attach wires and it has no problem driving 50-100 of them per day. Its basically an impact driver but smaller and lighter for those who dont need the constant driving power. Super convenient for dragging into attics and small spaces. Ive been using it with the DCL510 light so I have two batteries on me at all times and have never needed to charge.
I checked the batteries that I do have and they are all 2Ah but they are from a year ago so they definitely lowered it

Can't figure out how to get $113 online but I think I'll still go for it at $126. I can't find it anywhere else at that price and I've been waiting for a good deal on a set like this. Thanks.

Go for the screwdriver over the drill, its more compact, I love mine use it 6 days a week and the battery last me like 2 weeks. The 12v flashlight is a must add. Don't really see why you'd want a 12v impact and a screwdriver though?

when this 12v line first came out maybe 5? years ago, they were introduced with 1.1 Ah batteries, a couple years later they were upgraded to 1.5, and now currently 2.0. SO - these are either old kits they are selling off, or they possibly resourced an old description and still come with the newer batteries.

Need some SDer input: I've been eyeing the DEWALT DCK280C2 20-Volt Max Li-Ion 1.5 Ah Compact Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit for a while now and it doesn't seem to drop below $199. I hear Father's Day is the best time to buy power tools but anyone have any insight as to if this item will go on sale. What's the lowest a one has seen it? Thanks

Sorry guys, the exclusions I saw for today's Bucket Sale said nothing about the discount not applying to DeWalt. The original post has been updated.

This is good if you want compact and light tools else move on over to 20v Brushless range. Different tools for different boys. The reason I went with 20v is because of the Blower and Trimmer using same set of batteries. If you are heavy DIY'er then this is not what you want in your bag, but as a new homeowner this is great set.

DeWalt has great products and their 20v brushless line of ever expanding products is too good. You won't be disappointed with either.
